Sometimes, when I'm really interested in something, I'll obsess over it for a few days, reading everything I can find on the internet. If I have time, I'll make a lens on it, so others can benefit from my craziness, too.

I've also become involved in a couple of charity projects, which I really enjoy. There is nothing like the feeling that I'm helping somebody who needs it.
I'm not saying I'm a hero, or anything even close! I just figure I can do a little bit here and there, and hopefully increase the global happiness quotient a bit.
The projects I've been working on are Blankets of Hope for Soldiers' Angels, and donating blankets and caps for patients at the Riley Hospital for Children, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Blankets of Hope go to US military servicepersons who are injured overseas. Riley Hospital also needs blankets for their young patients, as well as newborn caps and isolette covers.
You don't even have to be able to sew to help with these projects. If you are interested in doing something for either of these groups, check them out and get busy!
If you want to contribute to my own efforts, buy me some fabric or yarn. Thanks!
Here is a close-up photo of a blanket I crocheted. Isn't it colorful!

Some of my other projects
I have a serious yarn addiction, due to my love of crocheting. Also, I have developed a nice little stash of fabric, for sewing projects that I do now and then. Unfortunately, these materials cost money, so I have to do stuff to pay for my crafting habit! I use the proceeds from these online shops to help fund my hobbies and charity crafting projects.

My artistic outlet: making jewelry
Here are some of my recent jewelry designs. I love the look of linked circles (a nod to chainmaille), and the unusual, intricate designs I can achieve by crocheting with silver wire. I love sparkle, so I use a lot of Swarovski® crystals and gemstones. You can see the rest of my designs at smallandsimplegifts.com.

A new project: stock photography
I started using BigStockPhoto.com to buy images for my web projects, but I thought I'd try selling my own photos there as well. Maybe if I sell a few photos, I can almost come out even on that account! I can't take your call right now...
Leave me a message, if you like.

- Hey - it's nice to meet you! Your jewelry and crocheting are gorgeous! I love the Pi t-shirt, and what a great idea to put your lenses on your SquidWho page. I hadn't thought of that! What on earth did I put on there? hahaha! Anyway - hello! :)
