Believe it or not: HotSmarts are "calibrated" to reach a maximum temperature of about 200F in about 5 to 8 minutes after you pull them out of the microwave oven; this delay action keeps food from being overheated or overcooked (eggs over easy, pasta, etc. and steak stays juicy and delicious).

THEY DO WORK AS CLAIMED (Actually better than I claim; they will be STILL HOT well after you finish your coffee). I have used them for years before introducing them to the market through Amazon.com.

UNFORTUNATELY a lady (Lori A. Dallman from Tucson AZ) who posted very negative feedback on Amazon.com DID NOT PREHEAT THEM... No wonder the mugs did not work for her. I have been trying to get in touch with her to ask her to remove her comment but she won't respond to any of my mails.

She is probably embarrassed, I did some research on her and apparently she is Christian. She is in the construction business in Tucson, AZ.
She is causing lots of damage with her false testimony (Probably involuntary).
