Helen Flanagan was born in Bolton, England on the 12th of December, 1989, her full name being Helen Daniella Flanagan.

Helen is known for her role as Rosie Webster in the UK soap Coronation Street. She has been playing the part of Rosie since January of 2000 when she was only 10 years old.

She has grown up with Coronation Street and for many years was hardly noticed other than as the schoolgirl daughter of Kevin and Sally Webster. Nothing much happened to her and she had few storylines.

But then she grew up!

Coronation Street changed Helen Flanagan's Rosie Webster into a sex bomb almost overnight giving her the lead in several big storylines.

Suddenly Rosie was in short skirts with cleavage to die for - I've no idea where she used to have it all hidden!

Her transformation started in October of 2000 and since then Helen has been gossip fodder for the tabloids.

After Helen Flanagan's appearance transformation In Coronation Street she spoke about the dramatic change of Rosie Webster.

Helen said in late 2007:

"About three months ago Rosie suddenly became aware that she had a woman's body and wanted to dress sexily.Wearing a really, really short skirt and a really, really low top with a push-up bra does get me into character. But to be honest, I dress a bit like that anyway."

As Helen has said she was happy showing off her cleavage and legs, in Corrie, as this the way she dressed in real life.

Helen Flanagan's first big Coronation Street storyline, which had the tabloids fixated on her, was when Rosie Webster had an affair with teacher John Stape. Below is a screen shot from the episode.

For those who may not be familiar with Coronation Street, it has been running for over 40 years and is on a 7.30pm in the evenings. The scenes and storylines are therefore deemed suitable for all ages.

I think the producers needed something to make the old fashioned program sexier and more up to date. They chose Helen Flanagan and her short skirts and cleavage to do this.

Helen Flanagan told New! magazine of how she likes to look curvy. This is what she told them:

"I'm naturally slim and a size 10. If I've got a special occasion coming up, I'll cut down and eat healthily, but otherwise I'm happy the size I am. Last year I was a size 8, but I think it's so much sexier to be curvy.

Size 10 is my comfortable weight. I'm also aware that I have to be responsible. There are young girls watching me and I'd hate it for a girl to think I was skinny on TV and that she wanted to look the same. That's not healthy.

I like to dress sexily, but I prefer pencil skirts to short ones. And I think it's nice to
show off your cleavage. Women have boobs, and as long as it's done tastefully I think it looks lovely and sexy - it makes you look like a woman, not a boy!"

Since Helen Flanagan became of interest to the tabloid newspapers she has been linked to some hot totty including Junade Khan, Adam Thomas and England footballer Micah Richards.

The truth is, however, that she is happy with her builder boyfriend Daniel Scott with whom she shares a flat in Bolton.

The couple supposedly met in a sauna! Danny came up with the priceless chat up gem of, "It was hot in there, wasn't it?" as they both left at the same time. But it did the trick.

Of the meeting Helen siad, "I saw this absolutely gorgeous guy go into the sauna, so I went inside. It was weird. We both knew straight away we were going to be together."

Ahhhh!

Update 09 Aug 09: Oh dear! Looks like it isn't all ahhhh after all. Helen has split with Daniel and is said to be devastated. Supposedly the separation was a mutual decision. Thanks to the Helen Flanagan blog for the info.

Update 13 Aug 09: I gather that part of the reason for the breakup was that Helen's part of Rosie in Coronation Street was getting too sexy for him. Daniel wasn't happy about her cleavage being on display and so on.

One of the hottest scenes, in which Helen Flanagan has featured, was where her character, Rosie Webster, wore a corset. This really had the tabloids hot under their combined brows.

Was Helen worried about the nature of the scenes? Doesn't look like it. She said at the time, "It didn't bother me to be honest. I'm quite comfortable about my body. And with the show going out at 7.30, we have to be quite careful and make sure everything's thought through because children might be watching, so I knew it wasn't going to be too risqué."

It also appears that her boyfriend Danny wasn't too bothered either about the corset. Helen reckons, "I get home absolutely shattered (after filmong) but my boyfriend Danny Scott is so sweet. He watches Coronation Street and says things like, 'You were amazing!' He is really proud of me."

Or maybe he was happy because Helen was allowed to keep the corset!

These corset scenes were filmed at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. Since then the hotel have been getting calls, wanting to book the room that Helen used.

This sort of thing is quite common. Movie buffs and tele addicts like to see where their favourite scenes were filmed. With Helen though, why would they want the room where she wore the corset? Answers on a postcard please!

Not something that appeals to me, even if they were my boyfriend's feet - but there we go, Wonder if my boyfriend would like a pic of my feet for his wallet. No, doubt it.

Though taken for the UK soap the scene was considered to be too hot for television. So seeing Helen dressed in high heels, stockings, suspenders and a basque was omitted from the soap. Instead viewers saw her starting to strip and that was it.
