Hellyeah A Rock Supergroup
Pantera and Damageplan double-kick maestro, drummer Vinnie Paul, singer and lyricist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett (both from Mudvayne) along with guitarist Tom Maxwell (Nothingface) have combined forces to stop you in your tracks, and listen to theirs. HELLYEAH's self-titled debut features the best elements of these bands - vocals that veer maniacally between singer and song, surging, southern metal guitar groove, throbbing bass lines and hammering, ground-shaking beats, all with a feel and flavor that's both contemporary and timeless.

Hellyeah is a heavy metal supergroup, consisting of Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett, Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, Damageplan bassist Bob Zilla, and former Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul. The idea to form a supergroup originated in 2001 on the Tattoo the Earth tour, although plans were constantly put on hold due to scheduling conflicts. The summer of 2006 allowed the band to take the project seriously and record its first album.
Recorded at Chasin' Jason studio in Paul's backyard, a self-titled album was completed in roughly one month. Released on April 10, 2007, the album entered the Billboard 200 at number 9, selling 45,000 copies. All Music Guide reviewer William Ruhlmann stated the album is "a competent example of its genre" awarding the album three and a half stars. A week after the album's release, original bassist Jerry Montano left the band to what was described as "personal reasons on both sides". Damageplan bassist Zilla replaced him, and the band released a DVD titled Below the Belt on November 13, 2007.

According to Rockdetector the band finished album recordings in January 2007, and the single 'You Wouldn't Know', went to U.S. radio in late February.
"You Wouldn't Know" is about the difficulty of maintaining one's integrity in the profit-obsessed music industry and "Thank You" is a shout-out to all of the band's recently departed family members: Vinnie's brother "Dimebag Darrell," Maxwell's mother, and Gray's grandmother.
The album debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 selling 45,000 copies in its first week. As of September 26, 2007, it has sold 188,670 copies in the US.

While HELLYEAH didn't officially become a band until 2006, Gray and Maxwell actually started working together four years ago, after their two bands went on tour together. When they got back from the road, Gray flew from Illinois to Nothingface's practice space in Baltimore, Maryland to spend a couple days hanging out and writing songs. The jam produced the volcanic "Waging War," which appears on HELLYEAH. Before the musicians could reconvene to work on more material, Gray got consumed with working on Mudvayne's Lost and Found. When Mudvayne finished touring for the album, he contacted Montano again
and said he was ready to roll, and so was Tribbett, who was brought in
as the second guitarist.

Instead of being a traveling festival as in years past, Ozzfest returns in 2008 with a one day event in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, August 9th. Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica will headline this year's Ozzfest.
The event will feature three stages, and will take place at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas. In addition to Ozzy Osbourne's only summer concert appearance and Metallica's first time ever on Ozzfest, the main stage performers include Serj Tankien (System Of A Down), Jonathan Davis (Korn), Cavalera Conspiracy, Shadows Fall, Apocalyptica and In This Moment. Also scheduled on the main stage is a special all-star tribute to slain Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott by Rock Supergroup HellYeah.
Second stage acts include Sevendust, Devildriver, Kingdom of Sorrow, Soilent Green, Witchcraft and Goatwhore.
The Texas (third) stage-"an homage to the "many great metal bands that come from Texas," says Sharon Osbourne--features The Sword, Drowning Pool and Rigor Mortis.
"Ozzy just finished an 11-month world tour so I think he deserves a summer off," Sharon says about this year's one-day Ozzfest. "We're going to be a stadium destination festival for now--we have gone past doing the sheds every summer. We've given everyone else the blueprint and we have to keep evolving Ozzfest. This is just the beginning; AEG Live and I have a lot of new ideas for Ozzfest."
Tickets for this year's Ozzfest went on sale Saturday, May 31.

"You Wouldn't Know" is the first single from groove metal supergroup Hellyeah
From their debut album Hellyeah
Lyrically, the song is about the struggles that Vinnie Paul has had to overcome by returning to music after the murder of his brother. It can be interpreted as a narrative, where Vinnie Paul is the elder, telling possibly a younger person that "You couldn't be me even if you wanted to" because of the heartbreak that he had to overcome.

The video for the song was released in March. It features the band performing in front of a large crowd of fans.
