Help for Overweight Children

Childhood obesity is on the rise. This indicates that an adequate level of help for overweight children should be top priority.

As parents, we are responsible for the health and well-being of our children. They look to us for guidance, comfort and stability. They look to us for a sense of self-worth. They look to us for unconditional love.

If you are the parent of an overweight child or children, there is no better time to get the situation under control.

Let's face it; the problem will not correct itself. The sooner you provide a series of healthier options, the better.

I was an overweight child. Although not obese, my weight problem was severe enough to be an issue. The extra weight stayed on until my early 20's. At that point, I was bound and determined to slim down to a healthier size.

Don't allow your child or children to remain overweight until they reach adulthood. Now, is the time to help them conquer their weight problem. They'll love you for it!

Help for Overweight Children - Dealing with Bullies

Unfortunately, most overweight children are subjected to bullying at one time or another. It is a situation that must not be tolerated or ignored. All children deserve to live and play in a bully free zone!

Explain to your child that most bullies act out because they crave attention. They pick on certain people because THEY feel that these particular people don't fit in.

Stress the importance of steering clear of the bully, whenever possible. Suggest that your child walk or play with a group of friends, instead of doing so alone. As the saying goes... "there's power in numbers". This strategy still holds true today!

Please take the time to learn more about bullyingand getting help for overweight children. There is no better time than, TODAY!
