Working to help pups in need find their forever homes!
In 2004, my Mum found me on Petfinder.com and rescued me from the Southside Animal Shelter in Indianapolis. Now I have a wonderful life with a wonderful family.
From All-American to purebreed, Rescue Me will feature a dog in need, every day, in hopes of bringing awareness to pups that need help throughout the United States.
Feel free to email me, if you have a pup in need. We'll try to feature every pup.

About Rescue Me!
I thought it was time to take the next step. So I started a blog that highlights pups in need; pups in rescues and shelters throughout the country.
Be sure and check it out - 'cause we will be featuring a new pup in need every day of the week. And there are great links to all kinds of rescue organizations - purebred and All-American - throughout the country.
And don't forget to grab one of our chicklets to post on your site or blog and link to Rescue Me, we know it will help a pup in need.
My rescue tail!
Yep, it's me, Johann The Dog!My birth Mom and four of my brothers and sisters arrived at the Southside Animal Shelter in Indianapolis, Indiana sometime in August 2004. We were rescued.
They think I was born on June 25th, 2004, but they don't know where, and that I'm a sheltie. The shelter folks named me Ben (on the left) and my brother Jerry, funny huh? My new mom renamed me Johann, after Johann Sebastian Bach.
My mom raised us well, And all of us were adopted to wonderful, but different families. That doesn't make me sad, because as of September 3, 2004 I have a great new home and two new kittie brothers Wolfie and Wiggy, and as of March 2006, a new BC sister, Gracie.
I need a d-o-g!

No More Turning Away ~ An animal shelter video
You can make a difference. Through adoption, fostering, volunteering, donations (whether it be money or something you don't need anymore that the animals will benefit from), and even just educating people about responsible pet ownership and the pet overpopulation crisis, you can help these animals. The animal shelters are not the bad guys. They are just doing what they can. Not having animal shelters would not keep animals from dying-- it would just keep them from dying humanely.

My sister Gracie's rescue tail!
In March of 2006, Mum sought out a new friend for me. One day she logged into Petfinder.com and up popped this really cute border collie pup.Mum and I wanted to be sure this pup would fit well with our 'agility' family. So we picked her up from the vet's office where she was being temporarily taken care of, and took her to the agility training center to see if she was interested in the equipment.
Well, she loved the equipment, so much she 'graced' it with her presence. So we named her Gracie. Gracie and I also got along instantly and have been best buds ever since.
Gracie was confiscated from a hoarder that had 70 dogs by the Sheriff in Seymour, Indiana. Sadly the 50 adult dogs were in bad health, but a kind vet took in the 20 puppies and kept them until they could be adopted. That's when Mum found Gracie on Petfinder.com.

I'm a happy tail!
