Squidoo is a fast growing web 2.0 company that lets anyone build a simple page (we call it a lens) about any topic they are passionate about. And we're hiring. Here's what's new.

Director, Philanthropic Relations

Partnerships, bizdev, marketing, etc.

FILLED!

Yes, this lens really worked. The job is filled-- Thanks.

Squidoo.com is part of a new breed of online web site. Call it web 2.0 if you want to.

We're different in that we exist to provide a platform that allows non profits to spread their ideas and to raise money. Even better, we make it easy for a non-profits' supporters to do the same. 60% of our 20,000+ members donate 100% of their royalties to charity. Every day, we raise money, effortlessly.

Our new DIRECTOR OF PHILANTHROPIC RELATIONS will be responsible for our relationships with charities all over the world. We already send money to organizations as diverse as Room to Read, JDRF, NPR, The Acumen Fund and dozens of others. Our goal is to give more than $100 million to worthy causes.

Your job will be to find the right organizations, explain our site to them and engage them in a relationship where we all win. It's a mix between biz development, marketing, and customer service, with some tech stuff thrown in.

You will work out of our beautiful offices in Irvington NY. We have a tiny team, a fun environment and benefits for all full time employees (flex time is possible for this job).

The best thing to do before you write to us is to visit Get Donations . You can also read about us on our founder Seth Godin's blog. Or at More Info on Donations

Additional Qualifications:
You don't need to program a computer, but tech literacy and a willingness to learn more is a must. Phone skills and writing skills are essential, travel should be minimal.

You must be local, I'm afraid. We need you in our office in Irvington, NY, 16 miles from NYC... telecommuting applications have to be discarded. Sorry.

How to Apply:
After you've visited our site and built a lens or two to try it out, send an email, with the lenses you've built and a description of your background to our editor in chief, Megan Casey, at megan@squidoo.com

Traffic on the rise

In April, Squidoo saw 300,000 unique visitors. August was more than a million. [Source: Google Analytics]

Intern Camp

(free lunch, too)

COME TO CAMP

Camp isn't just for summer anymore.

Introducing Squidoo Camp, where the smartest NYC-area interns go to geek out.

We're looking for a handful of interns who want experience, free lunch, college credit, or just the chance to be a start-up hero.

Come to our gorgeous loft in Irvington once a week for conversations on web 2.0 and community engagement, and hands-on time with the site. Spend 3-5 hours for the rest of the week completing specific assignments from home.

You're used to being in the top 1% of whatever you do, you're charismatic, and you know the difference between Etsy and CafePress, MySpace and Friendster, Squidoo and HubPages. If you're a photographer, a coder, an English major, a gamer, a baseball player, we don't care... bring your skill sets with you.

More details:
We're looking for about 5 people, but that's determined by how great the applicants are.

Our office is a 45-minute train ride from Grand Central, right on the Hudson River and 50 feet from the Irvington MetroNorth station.
We'll serve lunch. And you get rights to the espresso machine.

Starting as soon as we can, but no later than September 18th.

How to get the job:
Make a Squidoo lens about something you can't live without. Send that URL and a note to Megan. (megan@squidoo.com)
