Home Remedy for Hemmroids

The preferred course of action for hemorrhoid relief is hemroid treatment at home. I discuss what starts the hemroid problems in the first place and correcting it with natural hemroid treatments.

Sitz Bath for Hemroid Treatment

26/11/09

This is the best and fastest hemroid treatment for immediate relief. It shrinks the hemroids and eases most of the pain. Purchase a Sitz Bath at your local Pharmacy along with a bag of Epsom Salts. Hook the tube to the Sitz Bath and pour in half a cup of Epsom Salts. Place lukewarm water in the sitz bath and mix the epsom salts around and then raise toilet set and place on toilet. Sit in sitz bath for 10 to 15 minutes, or as long as tolerable, several times a day. This will soothe and reduce the inflammation of hemroids, aids in the shrinkage of the hemorrhoids, and reduces itching and pain. I consider Sitz Baths to be an excellent hemroid treatment.

This is also prescribed by doctors for those with anal fissures. The baths are often recommended to relieve pain and speed healing after hemorrhoid surgery.

Drink a cup of milk boiled with a mashed banana three times a day for hemroid treatment.

Grate up some white radish and eat it with a little honey.

Create a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger juice, 1/2 teaspoon fresh lime juice, a tablespoon honey, and a 1/2 teaspoon mint leaves and take once a day.

Horse Chestnut Seed Extract strengthens the veins around the anus so that they don't hurt anymore.

"Seems a bit awkward but its always worked for me... simply put just get a thing of carmex and apply directly to sore spots... you will be amazed".

Well I have not tried these specific hemroid treatments, but they're worth a try.

Hemroid Treatment and end Constipation forever!

30/09/09

Here is an email I received from someone who saw my Yahoo Answer for relieving constipation:

"Hi Val, I read your article on flaxseed. I wanted to write to you because I have recently started using it...it's been about 5 days and I CAN"T believe it!!! For the first time in my life I have *gone* everyday, sometimes twice, in a very smooth manner like never ever before. I have only been taking one to two tsp of ground flax seed a day and I really do believe it's because of it that I go. I don't want to jump with joy over it because it might be too good to be true and I'm very afraid that this too will stop working for me. My question to you is, in face, will flaxseed stop working eventually in promoting the bowel movements? I heard that taking laxatives will stop working over a period of long time usage...but this is a natural food that contains fiber so I'm thinking it'll always do the trick. What do you think?" ~ Grace

I reassured her that it will continue to work and is the best natural remedy for constipation.

Hemroid Treatment - use ground Flax Seeds daily to avoid hemroids. On top of that, it helps lower cholesterol!

Causes of Hemorrhoids and Natural Hemroid treatment remedies

While constipation is usually the major cause of Hemroids, there can be other contributing factors such as Vitamin and Mineral Deficiency, particularly Vitamin C and Magnesium.

When taking Vitamin supplements, separate your ingestion of vitamin C from your intake of Magnesium and Calcium, as one will block the absorption of the other. While Magnesium relieves constipation, overuse will result in a Calcium Magnesium imbalance within your body and some people will feel pain in the bones, particularly your hips if you're a woman. So make sure to take Magnesium and Calcium together.

Magnesium deficiency has been linked to hemorrhoids.

The Media talks a lot about Calcium and little about Magnesium, but my experience has been that both should be taken together. Magnesium is required for the smooth muscles of the body (the lining of the bowel contains smooth muscle). When magnesium is deficient the muscles do not contract and relax in the correct sequence. Magnesium as a part of a good multivitamin and mineral supplement should assist in correcting the deficiency.

I recommend Calcium & Magnesium as beneficial in hemroid treatment. Expect to see results in 3 to 7 days. If you take a regular dose of Magnesium and Calcium this should eliminate or significantly reduce your hemroid flare-ups. The powder has better absorption.

Vitamin C with bioflavonoids will help to ensure the health of the blood vessels which makes hemorrhoids less likely.

Seat cushions, moist cloths and loose underwear are also recommended.

Foods that can aggravate hemorrhoid symptoms are nuts, coffee, all alcohols and spicy foods.

Avoid sitting in hot baths as this can sometimes flare up hemroids unexpectedly.

All the products I have recommended for Hemroid Treatment are available through Amazon (see below).

Home Remedies for Hemroid Treatment

The best natural remedy for constipation, that exponentially increases the odds of your developing hemroids, is Flax Seed Meal. It has many added benefits besides avoiding constipation and hemroids. It is a long term Hemroid Treatment in that it stops the hemorrhoids from occuring in the first. It also lowers cholesterol and is high in Vitamin B17 and other B Vitamins, 3 fatty acid, fiber, and a compound called lignin. Lignin may help with Gallstones, High cholesterol, Colon cancer, and Diabetes.

It can be purchased in a bag at your Health Food Store or even at Farm Co-ops (farmers feed this to their livestock), but must be stored in your Freezer, otherwise it will become rancid fairly quickly. I add it ground up as the last item into my cereal especially if the cereal is hot, because it looses some of its potency if exposed to high heat. However Flax Seeds uncrushed can be used in baking and cooking.

I add 1 tbsp. Bran and 2 to 3 tsp. of Flax Seed Meal to my cereal each day.

The added benefit is that this with regular exercise will not only relieve your constipation problems, but will also reduce your cholesterol levels. Include more fiber in your daily diet. Apples are also a great dietary fiber.

IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome): Fiber comes in two forms: insoluble fiber (for example, wheat bran) and soluble (for example, flaxseed). The review found that soluble fiber generally does help IBS symptoms, but insoluble fiber does not. Dr. Whorwell states in his letter "the total exclusion of all cereal fiber, such as bran and brown bread, from the diet is one of the most rewarding treatment strategies I can offer."

Hemroid Treatment requires Constipation be corrected

Hemroids are often brought on by constipation. Here is a list of herbs and seeds which remove toxins and plaque from the colon and will restore balance to your colon . The first two are effective in hemroid treatment:

Flax Seed meal
Slippery Elm powder
Marshmallow Root
Fennel Seed
Willow Charcoal

Flaxseed meal is high in fiber - sprinkle one to two tablespoons on your morning cereal - I sprinkle it on hot oatmeal. Store ground flax seed in the freezer as it goes rancid quickly in a few weeks. I grind up enough for 5 days and keep it on the counter in a sealed container.

Slippery Elm soothes, reduces inflammation and absorbs toxins in the intestinal tract and is friendly to the stomach too. Take Slippery Elm 2 hours before or after other herbs and medications. Drink plenty of water when taking this herb.

Slippery Elm - Hemroid Treatment

13/07/09

This is a natural herbal supplement that is beneficial to the overall digestive system, from the mouth all the way through to the anus!

Added to water, it becomes a soothing mucilage. The mucilage moistens and soothes, while the herb's tannins are astringent, making slippery elm ideal to soothe inflammations, reduce swelling, and heal damaged tissues and makes it an ideal hemroid treatment. It also contains calcium, iodine, bromine, amino acids, and traces of manganese and zinc. It helps heal internal mucus tissues, in the stomach, vagina, esophagus and intestinal tract. It is often recommended for people who suffer from prolonged flu and stomach upset.

You do not however need to add it to water. Just take the capsule with a glass of water. You can add it to your food.

I add it to soups after they have been removed from the stove for 2 or 3 minutes and then serve.

"Native American healers have used the dried inner bark of slippery elm tree for centuries. Bark, collected in the spring, yields thick, viscous mucilage when mixed with water and is used to treat conditions such as urinary tract inflammation, inflammation of the digestive tract, cold sores, boils, and irritated skin and mucus membranes. Poultices made from slippery elm bark were applied to bruises and black eyes and recommended to help heal minor burns and abrasions. Ground bark was added to milk and taken as a nutrient for infants and chronically ill patients.

Surgeons during the American revolution used bark poultices as their primary treatment for gunshot wounds. As with Native American healers, physicians in the 19th century also recommended slippery elm broth for infants and chronically ill individuals, and as a tea for gastric ulcer and colitis...... it is traditionally used to treat inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract such as gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, or enteritis. It may be taken alone or in combination with other herbs. While anecdotally reported to be effective, supporting evidence is largely based upon traditional evidence and the fact that the mucilages contained in the herb appear to possess soothing properties. Scientific evidence is necessary in this area before a clear conclusion can be drawn." Source: Revolution Health Group LLC

If you are naturally prone to constipation then add this herb to your daily intake. It heals the mucosa tissue all the way from the mouth to the anus. I consider it to be quite a wonder herb. It has been used in cough drops for decades and now Ulcetrol uses it as one of the ingredients to heal ulcers naturally.

When I was taking Ulcetrol, which contains Slippery Elm, I also noticed that it helped give me more regular bowel movements. I did a lot of research on this herb and that's when I discovered what I suspected, that it heals from mouth to anus. It is available at your Health Food Store and at Amazon.com listed below.

For those who experience constipation, upset stomach, ulcers, and hemroids, it can be a real blessing. It has been used for decades in sore throat lozenges. If you do a Google search you'll discover what a wonderful and economical, natural supplement it is.

Avoid Slippery Elm during pregnancy due to the risk of contamination with slippery elm whole bark, which may increase the risk of miscarriage.

Molasses for Constipation and Hemroid Treatment

Molasses in warm water is a natural, mild laxative which helps keeps bowels functioning regularly, which prevents accumulation of the toxins in colon that cause appendicitis; 2 tbsp in warm water, twice daily.

Constipating Foods

Avoid foods that can lead to constipation, such as white flour, cheese, fried foods, sweets, salt, beef, pasteurized milk, all junk food, wine, carbonated drinks, and coffee.

Those berries with a large amount of seeds, such as strawberries, huckleberries, raspberries and blackberries, should be avoided, too, as they have a tendency to constipate.

The berry exception - Blueberries. Flavonoids, a constituent found in dark berries helps restore the integrity of the blood vessels.

Remedies for Constipation

Coconut Oil for Constipation

Coconut Oil is great for constipation relief, weight loss, and more energy. Not only that, if you have dry skin, it's the best rehydrater. I also use Coconut Oil to take off my eye make-up. I've tried all the over-the-counter products and they all sting my eyes. I then switched to Olive Oil, but if it gets in the eyes it can sting a little too, but not Coconut Oil!

Coconut oil does not go rancid and actually at normal room temperature is a solid. When you place it in warm conditions it melts, i.e. on your skin.

Over-the-Counter Hemroid Medications

Over-the-Counter Hemroid Treatment Medications such as Hydrocortisone creams are anti-inflammatories and can relieve inflammation and itching. However, your doctor can prescribe a higher concentration if the over the counter strengths don't provide relief.

Some drugstores also offer numbing sprays that will help with the pain.

I have found Anusol hemorrhoidal suppositories which is a hydrocorisone cream to be helpful and much prefer it over Preparation H. ANUSOLĀ® Plus HC Suppositories are suitable for when internal and external piles become inflamed.

I also recommend Neo Healar hemorrhoid treatment cream which is a proven, natural cure for hemorrhoids.
