Herbal Teas Will Help With Acne
To treat acne , most people use creams, ointments and gels on their skin, but forget that acne can and should be treated from the inside as well. There are many herbal acne remedies that can be introduced in the form of teas, and our bodies respond well to adding this sort of herbal treatment. These remedies are potent and help to reduce or even eliminate the symptoms of acne by cleansing your system of toxins and hormone overloads that may be causing acne eruptions. Interestingly, they can sometimes seem to increase acne symptoms before the healing process begins. This is because they are working to cleanse the whole system and the toxins are finding their way out. Don't panic if you see a slight worsening in your acne symptoms, this will change and your skin will begin to look better with consistent use.Teas that are used as herbal acne remedies can be made or purchased at health food stores. If you would like to try making your own, you can use the following recipe:
Herbal Tea for Acne
2 parts Red Clover
2 parts Dandelion Root
1 part Echinacea root
1 part Alfalfa leaf
1/2 part Capsicum
Use one tea ball, fairly tightly packed with herbs to 3 cups of boiling water. Try to use distilled water for increased effectiveness. Steep the herbal acne remedy for about 15 minutes. Keep the lid on your teapot, so the volatile oils cannot escape - these are essential to the tea's effectiveness. Do not use an aluminum teapot. Aluminum will negate the effects of the herbs. Rather, use ceramic, glass or earthenware. You can also experiment with combinations of other ingredients that will have the same effect of cleansing your system and easing the symptoms of acne. Or, if you are purchasing an herbal tea at the health store, look for the following ingredients:

Burdock root - a powerful blood cleanser
