- You are very welcome, chasecreative. When ever you would like to embellish the homes of your customers with genuine Hereke carpets or rugs (or other ones from Turkey), just drop me a line.
As far as I know, the USA prohibited to import new Persian carpets and rugs, so the colourful and always harmonious Turkish carpets and rugs maybe a good option. Also, because they will not increase their price like the Persian ones will do on behalf of this prohibition...

- Thank you so much for your blessings, Bev. I'm honored...
I'm in the internet to give my customers a safe place to purchase their genuine Hereke rug, so that they can enjoy light-heartedly the tradition, beauty, luxury and elegance of these masterpieces of hand-knotting art...
Thank you once more for your blessings. The genuine Hereke rugs deserve it...

- Indeed, these carpets get even more expensive as time passes. These carpets are usually hand-woven from either India or the Orients, then traded all over the world. Maintaining these carpets as an investment requires proper carpet cleaning. Rome, Italy, and other old European civilization traded off these carpets after Marco Polo established a trade route between the said countries and Asia. The empire that sent most of these caravans to India and China was Rome. Carpet cleaning for these types of rugs are so delicate that they practically clean up every thread.

- Thank you so much for your comment, Joe.
Unfortunately you for any reasons didn't get to learn the true history of carpets...
Beside of this the genuine Hereke rugs I'm selling online are hand-knotted in Hereke, Turkey and not anywhere else in the world, where are made fakes in mass production.
The value of any genuine carpet or rug (not those made in mass production) starts to heighten after 50 years. For this reason a genuine rug - and as well the here introduced from Hereke - are longterm investment items.
I prefer to tell my customers the truth instead of any tales to get them to buy.
It is absolutely true and you are completely right that the care and the washing (after about 10 to 15 years) of those valuable rugs needs a rug launderer, who is specialised in cleaning such rugs.

@ choose just one
A good question! Fortunately I have not to chose, but my customers :-) They choose after their taste... Here are some awesome ones to see: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2097502&id=1310777792&fbid=1710892494734&ref=mf
@ a great investment in beauty!
Indeed, a genuine Hereke is actually a longterm investment, what means the value increases after about 50 years. A Hereke, what is younger is just an used rug...

- Hello carpetview, thank you so much for your comment - are you interested to offer the silken ones as well? Where from do you customers know that they get a genuine Hereke? Why do offer such a high discount of 71 %?

- Hi hesika. Thanks you for your reply. We have indeed silk ones too. We recently setup our online catalogue and will be adding new carpets with time from our wide selection of over 5,000 rugs. Carpetview.com is the online shop of our shop "Le Bazaar d'Orient" created in 1973.
We always offered to our customers very good prices - and that's what made our long term success - building trust and returning & growing customers with word of mouth. The carpets in our shop are all geniune - we sell only good quality and original items. We have even created a museum of rugs to keep safe some antique rugs.
Having said that, as you mentioned in your lens - there is no such an official guarantee about whether a rug is original Hereke or not. There are in the market plenty of "fake" copies or chinese reproduction of hereke rugs. I believe it's a matter of trust and asking around about the carpet dealer.
Regarding our discount - it is a comparison with what our benchmark retail market value of such a carpet in Europe or USA - it is more an indicator rather than a discount (we should probably review the wordings to make it clear there :). We do have however some sales in the section Rugs for Sale - http://www.carpetview.com/27-rugs-for-sale
If you are interested to purchase a Hereke from us, please do not hesitate to contact me from hakan.guzelgoz@carpetview.com
Best regards,
Hakan

- Hi Hakan,
thank you for your reply. My question about the silken Hereke rugs was made, because I'm proud to have very best contacts direct to the owner of the most reliable manufacturer in Hereke, which is in the fourth generation in the hands of the same family, so that I would like to offer you to purchase your Hereke (and maybe other Turkish rugs) with me :-) Your customers for the Hereke rugs would get a guarantee of the official Turkish Hereke Carpet Weavers Association, wherein the Chamber of Commerce in Istanbul is a memeber as well. I could imagine that your customer would appreciate it a lot and that your reputation would increase! Unfortunately my website is not online at this moment, but you may get an overview on flickr. Personalized patterns are always possible, what your customers would love as well - because I could imagine that they can not get that with other carpet dealers... If you were interested, please do not hesitate go get in touch with me via s.calderin@t-online.de
Regarding the high discount: Nobody believes in them - it comes to another view and thinking: "Who gives such an high discount is not honest, because the discount is added before.... Who knows, if that end-price is reliable?"... As I said before: A genuine Hereke has its price and value and should not be dealt like a tomato at the bazaar...
Best regards (oh - and I wish you a prosperous New Year 2010!)

You should know that "lying" is not my thing. I'd like to sell these masterpieces of handknotting art. If I would ly - maybe I could sell one of them - but not anyone more.
My wish is that our customers go from one to another and tell each other about the beauty, luxury and elegance - and with whom they purchased such a fine Hereke Silk Carpet.
