These super foods are a must to include on your healthy food list
Super foods exist! These foods are a must to include on your healthy food list and most of them can be simply introduced into your diet, a must for anti-aging!
BLUEBERRIES
These beautifully coloured fruits, deliver high levels of antioxidants called anthocyanins, which have shown to lower cholesterol, prevent blood clotting and protect body cells. They decrease the effects of brain ageing and are often referred to as the 'brainy berries', in addition they contain vitamins A and C, zinc, potassium iron, calcium and magnesium and are high in fiber and low in calories! Researchers at the USDA Human Nutrition Centre (HNRCA) have ranked blueberries number one in antioxidant activity, when compared to 40 other fresh fruits and vegetables.
TIP: You can easily freeze blueberries by placing them on a baking sheet in a single layer, make sure you wash and dry them well first.
GREEN TEA
Is a powerful antioxidant. "A recent Japanese study on green tea found that men who drank green tea regularly had lower cholesterol than those who didn't. Researchers in Spain and the United Kingdom have also shown that ECGC can inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
These vibrant red fruits are packed with the anti-oxidant lycopene. Lycopene offers a host of benefits including heart health and may reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Interestingly, you can increase the absorption of the lycopene in tomatoes, by cooking in a small amount of olive oil.
NUTS
Contain healthy oils, vitamins and minerals, they have a potent photochemical and the amino acid arginine. They're no longer a dieter's foe with research showing that regular nut eaters often maintain a healthy weight. There's also compelling research linking nut and heart health, with findings that a serving of nuts (30-45g), five times a week may cut the risk of coronary heart disease in half.
SPINACH
This dark green, leafy vegetable contains a synergy of phyto-nutrients and anti-oxidants, including vitamin K, coenzyme Q10, foliate, iron and the carotenoids-lutein, xeaxanthin.
SPROUTS
Numerous varieties of sprouts are great with any meal. They're a great source of protein and Vitamin C. Try adding them to any dish and your immune system will get a boost.
OILS
Good oils are extra virgin olive oil, flax oil and seed, nuts especially almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts. Pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds are also very important.

Controlling Stress Levels
with a simple breathing exercise
Breathing is necessary to stay alive, however some of us have difficulties and this may result in coughing, shortness of breath, excessive mucus, etc are you also aware, that the way we breathe can make a difference in the body's response to what we are breathing, such as pollution, dust, etc? But what else happens when we take a breath? Proper breathing not only creates more oxygen to the brain tissues, it is vital for the proper function of internal organs.
One way to overcome this problem is to be aware of our breath. Practice some deep breathing exercises for a few minutes each day and gradually build up, until it becomes natural to you. As our bodies are constantly under stress with many factors affecting such as pollution, emotional stress and physical ailments, we need to properly exercise our lungs, when we do this, we help to eliminate the toxic build up and feed our bodies with the oxygen it needs.
The first thing to be aware off is how you are breathing. It is very important that we breathe through the nose, this way we prevent impurities and bacteria from entering the body. In order to rid our body of a toxic build up, we need to take in more oxygen and therefore taking in deep breaths is important. You should be able to feel a sense of expansion all around your abdomen and ribs, this sensation will happen when your diaphragm lowers and allows your lungs to fill properly. These methods will relax the body by bringing more oxygen into the brain and body. Proper breathing is extremely essential to us, just as much as diet and exercise is!
Supplementing naturally
Why do we need to supplement?
Green picked fruits and vegetables are harvested and shipped before giving thousands of micro-nutrients, antioxidants and free radical scavengers the opportunity to synthesize in the plants. And while experts agree that supplementation can provide the body with these missing nutrients, you must be careful that some supplements contain synthetic chemically derived mined or chelated minerals and vitamins that studies show are not readily absorbed or used by the body.Doctor Williams PHD wrote in his book 'NUTRITION against disease 1971', that 'our bodies have the capacity to defend, regulate and repair itself and this is beyond what medical science has thought possible.
Health experts have long recommended that people should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Today, they recommend eating even more: at least two to four servings of fruits and three to five servings of vegetables every day.
Today's growing and processing methods deplete the foods of many of the nutrients our ancestors enjoyed, you can supplement your diet to help you get more of the nutrients you need and boost your intake of fruits and vegetables.
Phyto Aloe has 12 dehydrated fruit and vegetables to boost your intake; it is the most convenient and nutritious way to supplement your diet using fruits and vegetables in their most raw states.
Phytomatrix is another excellent supplement to add to our daily life it is a blend of plant-derived minerals, natural vitamins and standardized phytochemicals. The process in which this product is developed ensures the minerals are first digested by the plants then used in the product. That's why this supplement is so beneficial to the body; they pre-digest the minerals before they become bio-available to a human being.
Phyto Aloe and Phytomatrix is available from our web:

Who wants alternatives to HRT?
Many women who have suffered the ill-effects of HRT do
Is Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) helpful or harmful? The answer to that persistent question is finally clear: After millions of women have suffered the ill-effects of HRT since 1940, we now know from the Women's Health Initiative Study that HRT does not prevent breast and endometrial cancers in post menopausal women, nor does it prevent heart disease. In fact, HRT increases the risk of both types of cancer, as well as heart disease. The Women's Health Initiative Study showed that long-term use of HRT increases the risk of breast cancer by 26% stroke by 41% and heart attacks by 29%, the risk of cardiovascular disease increases by 22%, and the rate of blood clots rise by 100%. While it decreases colon cancer by 37% and hip fractures by 33%, the risks far outweigh the benefits.WHAT'S THE ANSWER?
The alternative to HRT comes to us from nature and has been validated in both historical and scientific data, it is called phytoestrogen (PE), and this gives great relief to menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, the following nutrients taken in the form of dietary supplements has been shown to be beneficial.
Phyto-estrogens from plant foods, without a doubt, is your greatest source for relieving the symptoms of menopause? The best sources are: Soy, rich in PE's, it's your front line source for natural hormonal balance.
Dioscorea- Can be used specifically as an estrogen alternative
Flaxseed and certain other nutritional oils
Vitamin, minerals and co-factors. Supplementing nutrients has been shown to also be beneficial in both PMS and Menopause:
The supplement, PLUS, has one of the highest concentrations of natural plant-based phytosterols on the market today. These come from Dioscorea villosa, or true Mexican wild yam, a plant that produces high quality plant based Oestrogens. It may also assist in the relief of menstrual pain, cramps, spasms and assist in general well being.

- Hello Lisa
Plain yoghurt is wonderful if avoiding sugar. OSO Lean helps to take off unwanted fat, it can help people lose fat and build lean muscle.
Ambrotose has been called the 'missing link' in human nutrition, it helps nourish, control and support every cell in the body. Wonderful to support the immune system, allowing our cells to communicate easily and efficiently.
These products are sold in the UK
Hope this helps.

- Hi,
Thanks for sharing a nice lens on the topic. I also agree that food supplements are necessary for supplementing the deficiencies of nutrients we get from our daily foods. Also supplements are highly helpful in combating the free radicals within our body. Of course supplements should be checked for quality and pharmaceutical grade, which you have rightly pointed out.

- Hi Michelle, welcome to Squidoo! This is a good information that you presented. I totally believe in a healthy lifestyle and am a proponent of it. I've created a few lenses myself on the subject and choose to lead by example. I think it's very important to supplement out diets with top quality, natural, pharmaceutical grade supplements as well as eating right and incorporating a moderate exercise regimen. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff. All the best! Aj :)

- Following on:-the disaster that is occuring in human health in the moderworld is directly related to the nutrient deficiences in modern foods on a massive scale and lack of certain class of essential nutrients, To bring you up to speed so you will know more than 99.99% of doctors in the world, read Dr Stephen Nugent's book, HOW TO SURVIVE ON A TOXIC PLANET. www.aireau.co.uk.and THE GENETIC KEY DIET,by same author.
GONE MISSING, Glyconutrients, Phytonutrients, Phytogenins and MASSIVE amounts of Vitamins and minerals. Supplementation to the informed is not a luxury, but ESSENTIAL.
To survive against all the ignorance, we all need INTELLIGENT SUPPLEMENTATION,then watch the common diseases deminish. Only the misinfromed the uneducated in PROPER Nutritional support advocate its not necessary. Proof of the pudding is always in the eating. For a comprensive understanding listen to Dr Stephen Boyd

- Michelle wrote:- What are your thoughts on supplementing?
The most common answer to that question ," My Doctor tells me to eat a healthy balanced diet." This displays ignorance, A Docotor makes a living out of prescribing toxic drugs. does he think that toxic chemicals are lacking when we have disease? Born of ignorance of what nutrient rich and dense foods role is, in preventing disease and maintaning wonderful wellness. It's a medical mythstake to think we can stay well from modern foods, it's also a mistake to think you can stay well or prevent diseases by eating organic foods, You can juice your brains out,it will not prevent some particular diseases from occuring, The body is built from the dust of the earth the dust is composed of many different components. The magic of life brings them all together in human form If any component of the earth is not delivered up into the plants we eat then our cells will malfunction and deteriorate this is then termed DISEASE.
