Heritage Makers - A Great Home Business For Mom!
But, also during this time, I have been a mom - and sometimes trying to juggle responsibilities and everything else can be very hard. I used to try scrapbooking everything - and tried my best to keep up with my scrapbooks and pictures.
After my second daughter was born - I just didn't have the time to keep up, and my pictures ended up in a big box - and some never even made it off my camera or computer! It got to the point that I didn't even want to take any more pictures because I had become so overwhelmed and knew I could never catch up.
During my time of working online, I came across a business opportunity called Heritage Makers. I kept putting it off, thinking there was no way I could do direct sales - I am WAY too shy for that. I didn't want to end up having to be that "pushy" friend that is always talking about my business opp.
One day, I decided I wanted to make something special about my Grandpa. He was very important in my life, and I wanted to do something as a tribute. He passed away almost 10 years ago, and I still miss him every day.
I went through the process of creating a storybook full of pictures and memories with Heritage Makers - just to see what it was like. It was so easy to do. I used a template and finished the book in a couple of weeks.
When I got the book delivered to my house and read it - even though I had written it and read it a hundred times before ordering it! - I ended up in tears. I was holding something so incredible in my hands.
My daughters are 5 and 3 - and I have a niece who is 10. They didn't get to know my Grandpa - but that night, I walked into the living room, and there was my niece reading the book to my girls. They were all sitting on the couch and just absorbing every picture and every word that was written.
When I saw that - my kids having the chance to know the man who was so important to me, and who I had wished every day they could have met - I went on to my computer that night and signed up as a consultant.
I knew this was the kind of business I could feel very proud of doing, and being able to give that feeling to other people was all I needed to know I was doing something I could truly enjoy.

One of Oprah's Favorite Things!
A Business In Direct Sales - Home Parties Aren't My Thing!
OK - I mentioned before that I am a bit shy. So, the thought of having to do "home parties" or anything like that was one of the main reasons I was avoiding signing up for a direct sales opportunity. But - after being with Heritage Makers for awhile now, I realize that - although having a home part, or "celebration" is the best way to grow my business - it isn't completely necessary. Many women have grown their businesses without ever having a party - doing much of it through word of mouth, trade shows and online.
I have seen firsthand the power of word of mouth with these products. I had people signing up the same day they saw my book about my Grandpa - and I have many others who want me to help them get started with ideas they have for some projects.
I have a trade show in May that I have organized with a bunch of other direct sales women, and I am making a ton of greeting cards to display, sell, offer as prizes and show the endless possibilities with Heritage Makers. And, the best part of the greeting cards is that every card that is given out by someone, has my website address on the back! What a way to have your business grown without needing to do anything more than sell some cards!
Heritage Makers has been featured on Oprah - she loves the products. It has been written about in many magazines, talking about the wonderful opportunity that has been made available to many women who are wanting to have a business they can grow and and enjoy working with.
This is still a ground-floor opportunity and the company is growing at an amazing rate - and it is because it has proven to be one of the best direct sales companies and opportunities available today.
