Who is Herman Wouk

Ranked #6,179 in Books, Poetry & Writing, #216,277 overall

Master Storyteller

Herman Wouk has the ability to transport me when I read one of his books.  I started with "Don't Stop The Carnival", because of it's island setting.  Then I decided to try "Winds Of War" since I enjoyed the first so much.  I have never been disappointed.  His richness of characters and description of place and full stories always leave me pleased I took the time to see what he had to say.  Let me introduce you to some of his work here:

Mr. Wouk stayed at the "Galleon House" on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands while writing the book "Don't Stop the Carnival". While there, he also did about 8-10 paintings which he left on the walls. I know this because I stayed in the same room he did and looked at those paintings for quite some time. What would be interesting is to find out what ever happend to those paintings??

    Hi,

My English teacher translated to Russian ,"The hope" , Herman Wouk's book.
He ask me to search in the internet if this book exists in a Russian version.

We are Jews that live in Israel and feel that this book is close to our patriotic wind.
