Goerner Wrestling An Elephant

Goerner "Wrestling" an elephant, a feat he performed daily while traveling with Pagel's Circus. At the beginning of the tour, the elephant weighed 300 pounds, and by the end 700 pounds. Goerner had no trouble in either case

Goerner Barrel Lifting

Goerner Supporting a half a ton on his back -- and making it look easy -- with this specially designed "barrel" barbell and some human weights.

Goerner Human Bridge

Goerner as the "Human Bridge" supporting well over 4000 pounds as an automobile with 6 passengers drives over him.

Goerner's Grip Strength: 

Hermann Goerner excelled at feats of grip and forearm strength. Here's a look at some of them:
  1. One Handed Deadlift of 734.5 lbs. (333 kgs.) on July 20th, 1920 in Dresden
  2. Pinch lifted 111 lbs. (50. 3 kgs) on July, 10th ,1934
  3. Could write his name on a blackboard in chalk with a 110 lbs./50 kg. weight hanging from his thumb.
  4. With just two fingers of both hands, deadlifted a barbell weighing 595.75 lbs. (270 kgs)
