Hayden Panettiere is Claire Bennet

Actress Hayden Panettiere gets a LOT of air time as Claire Bennet on Tim Kring and NBC TVs Heroes series.

Claire is definitely one of the most popular characters on Heroes.

She's pretty, she's smart, she seems to be INDESTRUCTIBLE

Indestructible Claire

Don't Try To Hurt Her

Feed Shark
Indestructible:

1) adj, not easily destroyed
[antonym, destructible]

2) very long-lasting

ie: 'the rocks seemed indestructible while the wood seemed to crumble.'
ie: 'Claire Bennet was indestructible while the wood went up in flames all around her.'

or 'Claire Bennet was indestructible while the glass shattered, the metal wrinkled and the sound of explosions blasted through the air.'

Are you getting the picture yet?

Season One: Claire Bennet

Claire Bennet, in Season One of the NBC TV Show, Heroes, is a 17 year old Odessa Texas high school student. She's also a wannabe cheerleader. That is, at the very beginning of Heroes Season One she is a 'wannabe,' but later into the season she becomes a real cheerleader,

Gimme a:

"C" "L" "A" "I" "R" "E" "Go......CLAIRE! Yay"

Claire is going through the normal teenage learning, growth, hormonal, and relationship difficulties that every teenager must experience, but what shows up right from episode one (Genesis) is something extraordinary in her life! Something that Claire is going to have to deal with ON TOP of normal teen-hood angst and life...

Claire keeps having little 'accidents.' Soon the little accidents become more serious injuries, but her body always heals just like it only suffered a little scratch or bump.

Finally she grabs her trusty side-kick friend, Zach, and starts testing out how far she can go with injury to her body. The results are truly frightening.

But I won't put a spoiler here if I can help it.

Let's just say that Claire does some things to herself, in testing to see what's going on with her body, that normal people just cannot withstand.

Zach observes - most of the time, in rapt silence.

(pause for effect)

Yeah - that kind of silence...

Now, Claire's dad, Mr. Bennet doesn't seem to have any special 'abilities,' other than to be mysteriously caught up in PEOPLE...in general - just PEOPLE...

...but not just people, either, come to think of it...Mr. Bennet seems to always surface around people with Extraordinary abilities! But he doesn't even know, for much of season one, that Claire has a special knack of healing up everytime she gets hurt.

So, in Claire's personal circle, there are the following other Heroes characters:

Mr. Bennet - Claire's Dad
Mrs. Bennet - Claire's Mom (secondary role in the show)
Zach - Claire's Buddy and Side-kick
Lyle Bennet - Claire's nosy little brother (secondary)

That's about it, for part of the first season...

Later on, when things start becoming more and more strange for Claire, of course she will meet other Heroes characters who are also finding out that they have certain abilities that don't appear to be normal.

Some of the first characters that come into Claire's circle of acquaintances:

* Peter Petrelli and family ( Nathan Petrelli, Angela)
and
* The Haitian (ooooo mysterious, eh?)
* Matt Parkman
* Ted Sprague
* Various others...way later.

Really - for most of season one, though Hayden Panettiere is on the show as Claire Bennet, and gets a large portion of airtime, the plot requires that Claire not actually meet many of the other Heroes personas...well, not for quite a long time, anyway.

The plot works well, too.

And

Claire is definitely a very important MAIN CHARACTER, so much of her on-air time is required to set up details showing how all-encompassing some of these strange, new, extraordinary abilities are to the Primary Characters.

Through highlighting Claire a LOT, the show manages to create some totally cool twists by showing other characters' abilities less so that viewers are able to be surprised later on.

Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, forces viewers to do some thinking and use their imagination instead of just 'viewing the tube.' Viewers have to imagine that the other characters are going through many of the same difficulties that Claire encounters.

KUDOS to Kring, because the show would sure get boring if we were all able to see every character experience in the way that we view Claire's experiences.

In Season One of the Heroes TV episodes on NBC TV, you'll see a lot and learn a whole lot about Claire Bennet...and part of her magic is in distracting YOU, the viewer, from figuring out the rest of what's going on as well as what's in store, in general, for ALL of the Heroes...

Brilliant!

Claire - the Distracting Indestructible Woman!

Okay - almost a woman...she's 17 at the start of the series.

And that's about enough for now!

Claire To Hayden

NBC TVs Heroes Actress, Hayden Panetteire

Hayden Panettiere

* Born in 1989
* Made her TV Debut at age 5
* Role in: "Remember The Titans"
* Role in: "A Bug's Life" Voice of "Dot"
* Role in: "Racing Stripes"

Hayden SINGS, TOO!

She had a scheduled release of her first album set for May 2007 but this date was pushed back (possibly due to the success of Heroes, and added 'guest appearances' on so many talk shows and like events ever since Heroes first aired?)

The new release date is February 2008, so look for Hayden's brand new album right after the holidays!

Hayden is the only cast member of the Heroes series to have been in every single episode so far.

That's - the entire season one set PLUS - we're only at Show #2 of the second season as I write this post. Season Two, Episode 3 coming up in just 2 more days. We'll see if Claire is in that one, also. (can't imagine her NOT being in it)

That's - 25 episodes in total so far.

You'll see Claire Bennet in all episodes mentioned so far, and many more in the future - thanks to the talent of Hayden Panettiere!
