Not Insignificant Characters here
Gone but not forgotten...
Many Heroes characters don't enjoy the same length of time onscreen as main characters like Hiro or Claire, however, secondary and recurring characters play an important part in the storyline and in the show.
For instance - where would the show be without Dr. Suresh?
Or Issac - who painted us the Heroes world in Season One so that we could cheer, cringe, cry, scream, laugh and be on the edge of our seats from late night Monday (after the show) until Monday early evening again?
What about Mr. Linderman - who drives the plot with his covert motives? These, and more, are all important characters for the show

Others mentioned in the lens:
Charlie, Lyle Bennet, Mr. Muggles (Bennet family pet!), and Molly.
Heroes recurring characters
Charlie, Mr Muggles, Sylar
Mr. Muggles
One of my favourite recurring characters
Actor's name: "Lestat"
Breed: Pomeranian
In the storyline:
Mr. Muggles is not just any old pet! He is a 5-time
'all-breed' winner (local, Odessa TX?) and a two time regional 'all breed' winner (presumably regional means in Texas, where the Bennets lived when the Heroes series first began).
In "Better Halves" we find out that Mr. Muggles is a wanted pooch! He is wanted for his breeding qualifications, to result in either a 'pooranian' or 'pomepoo,' but Mrs. Bennet is going to have none of that. She is not going to allow her prize and beloved pooch be involved with any kind of a canine with the word 'poo' in it.
In 'RUN!' Mrs. Bennet is actually freaking out on the dog - she doesn't remember that Mr. Muggles is her most prized possession...hmm. Claire returns home and stops her mother from tossing stuff at the dog...Mrs. Bennet doesn't remember Claire, either!
Mr. Muggles is in the Heroes Graphic Novels, as well as the television series.
A memorable Mr. Muggles moment:
"Hi, little fluffy. Claire home from school yet? No? We'll just wait. Now what's your name?"
...Sylar (Episode: "Distractions")
Definition of 'muggle' according to the Harry Potter materials: a person WITHOUT magical abilities.
Mr. Muggles is one of the ONLY NORMAL characters on Heroes. He doesn't have 'extraordinary' abilities.

Charlie Andrews
Remembering Charlie
Character from Midland, Texas.
Charlie Andrews had 'enhanced' memory abilities, but unfortunately, she also had a blot clot in her brain...
Charlie worked at the Burnt Toast Diner, which is where Hiro and Ando met her.
Charlie was wrapped up in some time travel with Hiro - rather, Hiro mostly jumped around in time to accomodate doing some things for Charlie to try and save her life.
Before Hiro's time-travelling, he was getting to know Charlie and fall in love with her. One day, while on shift at the Burnt Toast Diner, Charlie goes in the kitchen to open up a can of something. She hears a noise from behind but before she can identify what it is, viewers see that Charlie's head has been 'sawed' open...
...the work of Sylar.
After this, Hiro tries to jump backward in time and prevent Charlie's murder by Sylar...
Along the 'way' Hiro only finds out that Charlie has a blood clot in her brain and that his extraordinary abilities will do nothing to stop the blood clot from claiming Charlie's life...
Charlie is also in the Heroes Graphic Novel, in pretty much the same function and role as on the television series. Sylar steals her power in the graphic novel, too.
There is a book called "Saving Charlie," which details the relationship between Hiro and Charlie.
Her real name was 'Charlene.'
Her birthday was April 24.
She died on October 9, 2006.
Rest in peace, Charlie.
Molly Walker
Sylar murdered Molly's parents.
When first found, The Company took Molly in, but soonafter, she was placed under the care of Matt Parkman and Mohinder Suresh.
Mohinder's interest in Molly was piqued even more when he found that she had the same medical condition that killed his little sister, Shanti. Molly starts to get sick from the condition, which also interferes with the effect of her abilities.
When Mohinder figures out that the cure is contained within his blood, he finds a way to cure Molly, and afterward, he special abilities return. This is tested by Molly being able to locate Matt Parkman and point out his position on a map and show Mohinder where Matt is.
At one point in the season, Matt is working with Mr. Bennet to locate a 'tracker' that The Company planted to eke out the positions of all the newly evolved humans with special abilities. Mr. Bennet and Matt believe they have to find the 'tracker' who is a person, and who would be dangerous to all people with special abilities. Mr. Bennet and Matt undertake to hunt the tracker down and destroy the tracker.
Unfortunately, they do find their way to the tracker...
...only to find out that it is Molly.
With Molly under Mohinder's care, Matt and Mr. Bennet barge in to a room where they are sure the dangerous tracker is...and it's Molly's room. When Mr. Bennet and Matt look like they are about to attack and seize or kill Molly, Mohinder's lightning quick response is to knock Matt out. With Matt knocked out, Mr. Bennet points his gun at Molly, but Mohinder points his gun at Bennet, and there is a standoff...
The tension eases, finally, with no further harm to anyone, and when Matt comes to, Molly tells Mohinder that Matt is okay and is the man who promised to keep her safe.
Molly calls Sylar 'the bogeyman,' and she can often sense his whereabouts. She identifies his location, at one point, as being in Isaac Mendez loft, which turns out to be correct.
Matt and Molly have a run-in with Sylar, though they have been tryig to avoid him. While Matt has been trying to track Sylar down, he gets split up from Molly for a time. He leaves Molly with Mohinder but later, has to phone Mohinder to warn that he thinks that Sylar is headed straight for Mohinder and Molly's location. Molly announces to Mohinder, "He's already here," and the pair dash away as quickly as they can before Sylar catches up with them.
In Kirby Plaza, as they are running away, they encounter D.L., Niki and Micah who are also trying to avoid Sylar, so they all help each other to escape.
They manage to get away, down to street level and out of the building - just in time to witness the fight between Peter Petrelli and Sylar.
Matt, who also came upon Sylar recently, was seriously injured, and at the close of the episode, after Peter and Sylar's battle has ended, paramedics are required to take Matt away.
Molly runs to him before he is lifted into an ambulance, and she asks that he not die because he is her hero!

Lyle Bennet
Son of HRG and Sandra Bennet, Brother of Claire, Concern of Mr. Muggles...
He finds a videotape of Claire doing violent things to herself and questions what kind of sister he's got in Heroes Volume One: Genesis. Claire tries to pass off what Lyle has seen on the videos as merely special effects but Lyle doesn't buy that. His suspicion is so great that Mr. Bennet brings The Haitian in to erase Lyle's memory of what he saw Claire do on the videotape.
In the second season, Lyle is "Lyle Butler." The whole Bennet family moves to Costa Verde for a while and are called "The Butler" family there as they try to hide from their past.
In the succeeding seasons, Lyle remains a character in a supporting role but every once in a while his character acts out to help with the safety of his family or just as an ordinary teenager would. Because his character doesn't have powers, the persona sort of keeps the Bennet family otherwise "grounded." With HRG/Noah Bennet and Claire traipsing around the world, involved in covert plans, escapes and such all the time, it's a good thing that Lyle stays normal and at home most often. Actually, in season four, he spends much of his time pet-sitting Mr. Muggles...
Well, someone's gotta be responsible in the Bennet family now, right?
Meredith Gordon
Biologically attached to Claire
When her ability was yet newly discovered to Meredith, it got out of control many times. She couldn't contain her "fire," and this put her infant in jeopardy (Claire) so the baby was taken from her (manipulated away from her, see below). For a while, distraught, she turned to crime and seedy living, but later on, when Claire wants to find out the truth about her real mother, and locates Meredith, her biological mother turns her life into better situations.
Until Claire actually tracked Meredith down in the episode "Distractions," Meredith assumed her child had been killed in a fire 14 years prior. Claire had assumed The Bennet's were her biological parents until some things start now lining up for her and The Haitian lets some family secrets slip to Claire. Just to be sure she has found her true biological mother, Claire shows gives Meridith a show of her self-healing abilities. Meredith answers in return by displaying fire created and held in her hands.
Meredith, though not a major character, is seen in a great number of small appearances in at least a dozen episodes. She's also an important character in the Heroes Graphic Novels.
