Just a regular businessman from of Odessa, Texas - U.S.A, Mr. Bennet is all business, taking care of various tasks on behalf of Primatech Paper Company. He's an average guy, right?
A wife, two kids - a boy and a girl - and even a dog in the family home - what could be more normal?

So far in season one, we've come to know Noah Bennet as a rather shifty character. It took some time to realize that under the Horn Rimmed Glasses, Mr. Bennet is doing more than officework. Something more than just paperwork is going on at Primatech Paper Company, too.

We've seen HRG (Horn-Rimmed Glasses) stalk Mohinder Suresh , turn up in odd situations with The Haitian in tow...

It seems our Mr. Bennet associates with some rather extraordinary peers.

Now why is it that a businessman working for a U.S. paper company speaks fluent Japanese and at least a smattering of Russian?

In the episode, "Company Man," we learn that Claude Rains and Mr. Bennet were partners in the not so distant past. It turns out that Claude helped rescue a little girl from a burning home. This little girl (Claire Bennet) was later adopted by Mr. Bennet and his wife, Sandra. Around this time, Claude was found to be hiding some of the 'exceptional individuals' that "The Company" intended to pursue, so Noah killed him! Company policy, or something like that...

"Company Man" is a "flashback" episode and shows a lot more about Mr. Bennet than viewers have been able to piece together in all the preceeding episodes combined.
