Heroes Character Ted Sprague

Ranked #93,096 in Entertainment, #1,144,565 overall

Matthew John Armstrong is Theodore Sprague

"Ted" Sprague has some serious Anger Management problems - the guy is angry, it seems, all the time...but that's not his worst problem.

Worse than anger management difficulties, Ted is almost literally on fire...in a nuclear, all consuming way...

Now, hopefully Ted can control his anger long enough to find out exactly just HOW he ended up with this extraordinary ability.

Ted On Fire

That Fiery Temper - Now, Now, Ted! Take It Easy

Ted was so fiery that he killed his wife!

Now, now - don't get riled up about it - he didn't mean to - honest he didn't.

For the first time, you can actually believe the worsts "He honestly didn't mean to kill his wife" because it's TRUE!

Ted RADIATED her...

She got Cancer - Karen, his wife. And Ted couldn't do a thing about it 'cos he couldn't do a thing about his 'Radiant personality.'

Bad pun, I know - but I really liked Ted!

Here's what happened to Ted...

Ted used to have a pretty solid life. A good job at a pharmaceutical company, and he met and married the love of his life, Karen. It wasn't long afterward that the Haitian showed up. And then Ted's life (and Ted's wife, with a new and growing Cancer) started to go all wrong...

When Karen's doctor informs Ted that Karen's condition is terminal, Ted FRIES the doctor...with no-joking, big bad, uncontrollable Microwaves...a thumbprint Ted left on the doctor leads one of our other Heroes, Matt Parkman straight to Ted...

But Ted didn't mean to fry the doctor - well, not exactly. Wouldn't you be angry beyond belief if you were just told that you were killing your wife just by being near to her?

In any case, Ted's condition leaves Matt Parker not knowing what to do at all...

All that anyone knows is that Ted's condition is strange and uncontrollable...and then Ted mentions The Haitian...

And Matt remembers a Haitian, too, right before weird things started happening in his life, too...

Ted to Matthew

Actor Matthew John Armstrong

Born in Chicago Illinois, on August 28, 1973, Matthew John Armstrong attended Naperville High School and was a star football player before landing roles on television.

Just to set the record straight EARLY ON...

NO - Matthew John Armstrong is NOT the 'Geico Caveman Guy'

That is someone who bears a resemblance to Matthew John Armstrong, however it is a different person.

Matthew began his acting career in the summer of 1995. He was in junior college outside Chicago at Glen Ellyn. He was involved in the residence theatre there, and soon took part in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada.

Matthew landed a TV role in 1998.

In an interview with David Deas of the-owi.com, Matthew said that he first worked with Tim Kring on the series, "Crossing Jordan." Matthew auditioned for a similar part on Crossing Jordan - with crazy beard and hair - as he landed on Heroes, in the form of Theodore Sprague.

Ashley Crow who plays Sandra Bennet on Heroes, is Matthew's wife!
