About This Year's Home
This year's dream home is set in the Wine Country of Sonoma, California. The 3,600 square-foot farmhouse is designed to be ideal for entertaining friends and family with spacious interior rooms and outdoor living areas. The Dream Home is located on a corner lot and it boasts a beautiful wrap-around front porch. You can see the house has incredible landscaping, including a paved walkway lined with low evergreen bushes, and seasonal flowers leading up to the porch.

The back yard also includes raised flower and vegetable gardens... and of course, the 2009 Doggie Dream Home.
The Location: Sonoma, California
Sonoma is located about 40 miles north of San Francisco, and is known as the birthplace of both California and the California wine industry.
Sonoma is nestled between low mountains in the Valley of the Moon, and is filled with wildlife and natural beauty.

The Master Bedroom
The master bedroom has large windows, a chandelier, and lots of lighting in the room. The designer chose a bold green for the room (not my favorite for a bedroom), but it seems to work with the white furnishings and accents.
The story behind the green color is kind of interesting... According to decorator Linda Thompson: "I really felt a connection to the trees outside," she says of her inspiration for the color choice. "You feel like you are up in the treetops in this room. It is very peaceful and serene."
The bed is a beautiful floor to ceiling canopy which is absolutely gorgeous (and very romantic).
The master bedroom also has a sitting area with floor to ceiling windows... a great place to get lost in a good book!
