To diet or not to diet...

Dieting and women seem to be forever interlinked. Trying to achieve perfect weight and looks, people will do a lot. But very often the most obvious things are staring straight into our faces.

Below you will find a journal of my 30 day trial, plus additional information related to the high fact low carbohydrate way of life.

Initial stats

Weight: 82kg
Excercise habits:

Day 1 - Introduction

Reading a diary consisting only of statistics marking your progress (or lack of it) would probably be dead boring for anyone other than the author. And this is something I will avoid, by providing diet related bits of information (hopefully in an interesting way) along side the typical diary stuff. So worry not, death by maths does not await you here.

Why Write a Diary Then, You Might Ask?

Day 2 - Water Is Life

I think most (if not all) diets agree that drinking water is very important. It is a part of our life that we very often do not really appreciate. Especially when our water intake comes from indirect sources like fizzy drinks etc.

The Benefits of Drinking Water

The percentage of water in our bodies is quite high - roughly 60-70% - and requires constant replenishment to avoid dehydration. Depending on the source the suggested amount of drinkable water per day is 1 - 2 litres. However this should be adjusted based on the weather, level of activity, health, etc. Our bodies can dehydrate quite easily during exercise, and usually when we feel thirsty, we are already dehydrated.

Another benefit of water is it's cleansing function. Drinking water, rather than other fluids, helps remove toxins from the body, which can improve your skin and lessen its dryness. It is especially important in the morning, as during the night all the toxins tend to build up in your body (which might be one way of explaining why feel so dreadful when it comes to getting up...).

Day 3 - What's With the Sour Cream

When on the high fat diet, I definitely abuse sour cream as a source of food... It's not even that I am a big fan of the taste or anything. It is all to do with my "love" for morning, as well as breakfasts.

Pretty much all diets agree that breakfast is an important meal. One that shouldn't be skipped. Unfortunately for me at that time of the day whether I actually feel hungry or not, the last thing on my mind will be meal preparation... Even the tiniest bit of extra sleep seems to be worth the loss. And doesn't matter how much I try to argue with my morning brain, it always seems to win.
