Buying High Chairs Can Be Confusing
Picking out the perfect high chair is harder than you think. There are so many features and types available now, how do you know which one is best. The truth is, most of the high chairs made today are good. So to simplify your search, decide what features you want before you even begin to shop.
Decide if you want a wooden high chair or a plastic one. Wood high chairs are really nice. In most cases they are not simply a place for your baby to eat, they are a piece of furniture in your home. Sounds good doesn't it? But wood has its disadvantages as well.
Plastic high chairs have many more features. Run through the check list and see which ones are important to you. For instance plastic is generally easier to clean, and many of the trays are dishwasher safe. Is this a necessary feature for you or just a small benefit? Some trays can be removed with one hand. This is really convenient if you have more than one small child.
Plastic high chairs can have reclining seats for smaller babies, and wheels that lock for easy mobility. They have adjustable heights, and seats that can be converted to boosters as your baby gets bigger. If you don't plan on leaving it out all the time, some will fold away for easy storage. Vinyl seat cushions are easy to clean but cloth ones generally look better.
Some even come with learning toys built right in. This is great for parents that want to teach their children at every opportunity, not so good for parents who don't want their baby distracted while feeding.
Make a list of what's important to you. It will make your search much easier. Then come visit us at Discount High Chairs for more information and great deals on major brands like Evenflo and Fisher Price and Graco.
High Chair Poll
When shopping for high chairs, what is most important to you. Is it the features and ease of use or are you willing to put up with something a little more difficult to get the look you want? Is the price the most important thing?
High Chair Safety
I'll keep this short and to the point. Many, many babies are injured and even killed each year from falling out of high chairs. Make sure your baby is securely strapped in.
And even with safety restraints, never leave the room with your baby unattended. If you have to go, take your baby out of the chair first. If the phone is ringing in the living room and you're in the kitchen and you know you can't get your baby out in time, let it ring. They can always call back.
Don't think "I'll only be gone for a second." A second is all it takes.
I know this sounds like common sense, but if everybody did this then there wouldn't be so many accidents each year.
Think about it.
