The Bugatti EB 18/4 Veyron

The Bugatti EB 18/4 Veyron, Volkswagen's version of a modern high-powered sports car powered by a 550-hp 18-cylinder engine. The engine is placed at mid-ship and has three banks of six cylinders in a W configuration. The name Veyron commemorates Bugatti factory driver Pierre Veyron, whose victories for Bugatti included the LeMans 24-hour race in 1939.

The Chrysler 300 Hemi C

The Chrysler 300 Hemi C is a beautiful concept car that is very likely to be put into production as an upscale stablemate of the Chrysler Sebring convertible. With its 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, the car has 353 horses to draw on, roughly one per cubic inch displacement. This combination of
power and styling plus the fact that it's a convertible make it almost assuredly a collector car of the future.

2007 Volvo C70 Convertible

The retro-styled Chevrolet SSR is a cross between a roadster and a compact pickup, and will probably become a production vehicle. In fact, Ron Zarrella, president of GM North America, indicated it is most likely among GM's year-2000 concept vehicles to go into production. Its sharp retro styling should interest collectors.

This Dodge Viper GTS/R may offer a glimpse of what the next Viper will look like. Its one-piece carbon fiber body evokes the look of the original
Viper, an immediate cult classic, but with more extreme curves. Its 8.0-liter aluminum V-10 engine delivers 500 horsepower, 50 more than the current Viper.

The Maserati GranTurismo is a classic touring coupe with modern styling that gives the famed Italian marque a true grand touring car. Suitable for everyday use, the Gran Turismo delivers excellent handling, a very sporty feel and a thrilling drive.

Designed by Pininfarina, the handsome coupe is not a full four-seater but there is room in back for two kids or two flexible and tolerant adults. The GranTurismo is not just show and no go. Powered by the classic Maserati 4.2-liter V8, it delivers 405 horsepower and a widely spread 339 lb-ft of torque. Top speed is reported to be 178 mph with 0-62 mph expected in 5.2 seconds.

The Gran Turismo offers the long-legged refinement and reserve to go with the more than usually descriptive name.

Honda recently unveiled the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept, a preview of the design direction for the successor to the Acura NSX. The
concept is designed to incorporate a powerful front-mounted, V-10 engine and a new high-performance, rear-wheel-drive based version of Acura's 'Super Handling All-Wheel Drive' (SH-AWD). "Our intention was to design an exotic sports car that gracefully combines advanced technology and strong emotion," said Jon Ikeda, principal designer, Acura Design Center. "The technical, machined surfaces and keen-edge design are balanced with sweeping curves and dramatic lines, all of which results in the ultimate exotic sports car."

The new generation of this iconic coupe has transformed into a true sports car.

The Audi TT 2.0T coupe has a base price of $34,800, the roadster is $2,000
more. For that price, the TT is well-equipped with such features as dual front and side airbags, ABS, stability control, traction control, fog lights, brushed aluminum interior trim, auto climate control, on-board computer and 17-inch alloy wheels.

An available Premium Package adds power front seats, heated front seats, rain-sensing wipers and an upgraded audio system.

The TT 3.2 coupe with a 6-speed manual starts at $41,500-$3,000 more gets you the roadster. Both are available with the S-Tronic automatic transmission for an additional $1,400. In addition to the larger engine, the price of the car includes all the features of the 2.0T plus quattro all-wheel drive, heated front seats, an upgraded audio system and unique 17-inch alloy wheels.

Audi R8.
