Add Visual Appeal to Your Classroom

A teacher's primary job is motivating students, encouraging the learning process. Unfortunately there is no quick and easy approach to achieving that goal. Some students are self-motivators, but many need and/or expect the teacher to inspire and challenge them.

The focus of this lens is not to discuss or dissect different teaching strategies, but to focus on one small part of the motivational campaign---providing an appealing learning environment.

As with most teachers I have always uses posters to enhance the visual appeal of my classroom. They serve a twofold purpose; motivational posters add a splash of color to my room, and remind my students that their goals and dreams are achievable.

I have included on this lens some of my favorite motivational posters as well as links to articles and motivational teaching strategies.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
