Highland Village Balloon Festival | Dallas Events

The annual 'Lion's Club Balloon Festival' is a great Highland Village tradition. This community event is sponsored by the Highland Village Lion's Club and other area Lion's Clubs. This annual festival includes live entertainment, skydivers, arts and crafts exhibits, food vendors and a carnival. Admission to the Balloon Festival is free. All other proceeds from this event are donated to local charities and local events.

August 19-21, 2011

This is the only balloon festival in North Texas where spectators are permitted on the field with the balloons and balloonists, providing an excellent photo opportunity as well as opportunity to converse with pilots and crew.

    I would suggest doing a search on flickr for hot air balloon photos that are under a Creative Commons license that allows for remixing. That way you'd be covered without having to contact the photographer for permission. Secondary to that would be to look for CC licenses in general, then ask for permission for your specific use if it's outside the parameters of the license they choose.
