I had never even heard of High School Musical before one day we walked into the Disney Store at the mall and the music was on.

My toddler started dancing and singing and loving it.

Her grandma was with us and bought the CD. Now we know all the words and just love high school musical the movie.

Here's the basics

Troy (played by Zach Efron) and Gabriella (played by Vanessa Anne Hudgens) are two of the main characters. During a New Year's Eve vacation they end up singing karaoke together.

Zach is a basketball jock, and Gabriella is the "brainy" girl.

They love singing and soon find out Gabriella is the new girl in school.

They decide to try out for the high school musical much to the chagrin of the school's drama queen, Sharpay Evans (played by Ashley Tisdale).

You can imagine the plotting and drama that comes from a high school drama queen being ousted from the lead by a nerdy science chick!

And what does Troy's father think ~ who happens to be his basketball coach?

There is tons of singing and dancing and all around good times with High School Musical The Movie.

This soundtrack was playing in the Disney store as I looked for a halloween costume for my toddler last year.

She immediately began to dance and sing. She just fell in love with the music.

Since then the music of High School Musical The Movie has been a mainstay in our household.
