From my travel to Corsica
Calvi Corsica undoubtedly boasts one of the most attractive places of coastline in north-western Corsica. Running for almost six kilometers of smooth, white sand, the seaside skirts more or less an whole bay. The sea is shallow and safe for children of all ages, and its proximity to town plus the various eateries dotted along the beach creates this a good beach for all the family. Next to the sparkling azure waters, the backdrop of rolling hills, sprinkled with woodland is a stunning contrast.
In Calvi Sardinia
Popular seaside resort of Calvi is located on Corsica's northern seashore just 180km south of the French Riviera, or seven hours from Nice by ferry. According to local legend, Calvi is similarly the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. Calvi gives a busy nightlife, a palm-cool esplanade lined after restaurants and cafés, fine beaches and a controllable base for exploring the hillside towns of La Balagne and the Scandola Nature Inaccessibility.
On the coast, Calvi changes and each summer adorns itself after it is attires of Riviera to welcome the crowd which invades it. It is suspected whichthe inhabitants have got something out of it. To those who ventured into this township, I let by way of thought, this description of Pierre Dominique . The Citadel is a house to stay. One of the most upscale Mediterranean ports, full of smart boutiques and superb restaurants, Calvi similarly has a labyrinth of pictorial streets and a fascinating naval description.
From the beach, it's a 20 minute walk to Calvi township centre. Calvi is situated in the north west coast of Corsica. A roaring port during the Roman era, Calvi takes it is name from the Calvus - 'bald' rock whichwould derive inwards to form the foundations of the Citadel, a thirteenth century fort whichoffer a number of magnificent views crosswise the bay to the mountains of la Balagne. One might as well say whichin Calvi you will not have to choose between a Jazz concert and a digress, a Polyphonic Recital and a safari at sea, a painting exhibition and a pony voyage, for everyone these activities are existing to you. Nothing could be further justified when we know that vacation are the best moments in life.
If you stay in Calvi, in the town or the Citadel itself, you equitable have to create a reservation and eat in the Citadel eatery . Looking out over to the bay at night with everyone the illumination in the distance it is extremely romantic. We sat outside and I was so glad we paid a modest extracurricular to get inwards up here as I think this could of be my best meals of the week in Corsica. The personnel were lovely and they had the menu on a blackboard that I'm guessing means they always refresh their menu.
If you are going to stay in the Western coast of Corsica, ferries from Nice to Calvi, Ajaccio or Propriano seem to be the surpass option. If you come from Spain or Western France, departing from Marseille or Toulon will save you several impetus, except the ferries are more high-priced there. If you perform to Bastia, Corte or Eastern seashore of Corsica, Livorno is the best starting point followed by Savona and Nice.
