Dogs love to hike!
Hiking with my Mum and my sis, Gracie, just may be one of my most favorite activities - besides agility of course!
And hiking is great exercise for both me and Mum. We started hiking as part of my agility conditioning program - because jumping over those logs, chasing a few squirrels, and hiking up and down hills is a wonderful way for me to keep in shape for agility.
But the best part is we do it for fun! We get to see lots of great scenery, smell some wonderful fresh air (and dead stuff, too), and we get to spend time together having a great time.

- Hiking to Long Creek Falls in NE Georiga
- This past weekend we took a nice little quick trip up the forestry road a few miles from our cabin for a nice hike up to Long Creek Falls.
- Hiking along Noontootla Creek
- The Noontootla Creek is a small mountain stream situated in the Chattahoochee National Forest in north Georgia. The creek has a healthy population of trout, which is why it's popular. They say this creek has some of the best fly fishing in North Georgia. Although I didn't see any fish. Had a fun hiking though!
- Hiking the Benton MacKaye and visiting Fall Branch Falls!
- We headed out to Fall Branch Falls, which connects to the Benton MacKaye trail (one of the trails that start the Appalachian Trial (AT)).
- Hiking: Deep Gap - Stanley Gap!
- We got in a couple of hikes last week. Our first little formal hike, since we've been here at our new place, was on one of the Aska Trails, part of the Deep Gap-Stanley Gap trail. The Aska Trails are a big network of trails that are within about a 15 minute drive from us.
- Our trip to Fall Creek Falls State Park!
- The trail was one person/one dog lane, so Mum let me take the lead (since I don't pull her down hill, BOL)! She went second and Gracie followed behind Mum. We had a nice little train going and finished the three mile trail pretty quickly.
- Snow hiking is fun!
- This past weekend the temps rose to about mid 40's. With snow still on the ground, Mum thought it would be fun to take another hike up the ridge.
- Hiking to Blue Ridge lake on my Gotcha Day!
- Our longest hike to date! 7 total miles with four 1000 foot elevation changes, and Gracie and I were still pulling till the very end.
- Hiking at Laurel-Snow!
- We had a great time hiking with new agility friends yesterday at Laurel-Snow.

- What a fun lens! We took our little dog Voltron hiking up on the Superior Hiking Trail last summer...and he loved it. He was outpacing us...even with his short little legs! He's a tiny little thing!
