She was the former worship pastor of Hillsong Church (1995-2007) and is one of the most recognized worship leader in Hillsong. She has composed many familiar songs like "Shout to the Lord". Currently Darlene's amazing schedule is includes being on staff in Hillsong Church as a pastor, touring all over the world with the Hillsong Worship team to lead worship in different churches and conferences. She also heads up the creative department of the Hillsong Conference. Truly a Levite at heart, Darlene explains the heart of the Hillsong team in her book Extravagant Worship by writing the Hillsong team prayer:

"Father, let them quickly get their eyes off of us. We just want to point them to you, God, because you are the Author of truth. You are the only One who is to be praised."
