Historical Re-enactment Traders 3

Ranked #1,010 in Culture & Society, #24,390 overall

A directory of re-enactment traders N to S

This lens lists re-enactment traders from N to S and is part of a set of lenses that I have put together as a resource for re-enactors from the UK and, hopefully, further afield as well.

Traders are listed alphabetically and there are indexs below that will take you to traders that deal with particular time periods or who sell particular items.

Most of the information is taken from the traders' web sites, and I don't claim to get it right all of the time. So if you find a mistake, please tell me and I'll correct it as soon as I can.

If you find this resource useful, please tell other people about it.
There is also a comments section. so if you have ideas for improving the directory, please tell me.

Links to other pages in the directory

This is one lens in a multi-lens directory of re-enactment traders.
The alphabetical listing starts on this page.

The traders are listed alphabetically over several pages, so you could just scroll down to find who you want, there are links at the bottom of each page to go forward or back. The pages are quite long though so it is probably easier to use one of the indexes. .

This is a link to a directory of reenactment groups, as opposed to traders and individuals.
If you want your group mentioned, please let me know as described above or via the guestbook.

Pan's Pantry

The use of incense goes back to before the dawn of time....
Therefore, it is perhaps not surprise that we specialise in working as "Historic Traders". This means that during the summer we can usually be found at many of the re-enactments and living history events held throughout the UK
And when we are present, you will know immediately as the scent of our frankincense is impossible to miss!

We mainly work with the late Mediaeval and early Tudor periods -ie from about 1450 through to 1550, either as traders or Living History demonstrators. If necessary we can portray earlier periods, back to the 13th century and of course the days of the legendary Robin Hood!

Phil Bleazey Woodwinds

I make woodwinds of the flute family (Transverse flutes, recorders, whistles and low whistles) for customers all over the world. I make instruments based on originals from as early as the 13th century, including my own versions of the Gottingen recorder and Dordrecht recorder, I also make flutes and recorders based on those from the Renaissance period as well as my own designs of flute, whistle, low whistle and recorder for use by todays traditional musicians.

Every instrument and the tools necessary to make it are hand made by me and, apart from the inevitable second hand market, the instruments which appear on these pages are now only available direct from me. This keeps the price down and the level of service high.

Prior Attire

Prior Attire provide costumes for a variety of periods, starting from the late Roman era, up to the 19th century, although we specialize mainly in the medieval periods.

Every item is thoroughly researched, and all care has been taken to render it as close to the original as it is possible, using the patterns and techniques appropriate for the period.

The reproduction garments are based on primary sources such as existing items of clothing, period paintings, sculpture or woodcuts and original patterns. We use natural fabrics appropriate for given period, mostly different kinds of wool, linen and silk. We do not make shoes or hats, though we are able to make tablet woven braids, basic embroidery and bobbin lace. All garments are made to measure and have no visible machine seams.

My work mainly consists of traditional pieces on a commission basis, with each piece being tailored to the individual's requirements. This is decided through consultation and design work.
