History of the Cayenne Pepper Diet 

The Mater Cleanse, also called the Cayenne Pepper Diet has been around for decades. It was created by Stanley Burroughs who was an early advocate of natural health, and believed in the body's natural ability to heal itself.

Although Buroughs is most famous as the creator for the "Master Cleanser" diet, this diet was only one of numerous alternative health practices he promoted. He was also an advocate of colored light therapy and of deep massage, as well as a practitioner of deep reflexology. He was a strict vegetarian. He began his alternative health practices in the Portland area in the 1940s by conducting lectures and practicing reflexology on regular clients. Later, the diet program was made popular by Peter Glickman through his book Lose Weight, Have More Energy and Be Happier in 10 Days, which promotes Burroughs' regimen to a modern audience.

Today, the cleanse is more popular than ever. The results people have experienced by going on this diet have been nothing short of amazing.

Chronic health problems people have suffered with for years vanish in as little as 10 days on this amazing diet. You can still find Stanley Burroughs book at most health food store, or online. It's a small 50 page paperback book that has not changed much since it was first published around 50 years ago.
