    I remember reading The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe and I was just in my 4th grade and I'm too young to understand everything. But I remembered something about the elevator suggesting to go up when you want to go down and the vulture that said, "Okay", then flew away. I would like to read that again. I was just wondering if you accept my military personal checks for payment?

    I have the complete collection in one volume - but nothing is better than the Hitchhiker's Guide - one of my favorite books, and we were blessed to have him in the world...

    At least you didn't quote any Vogon poetry! I remember rolling on he floor laughing at the radio show, then reading the books and then being disapointed by the TV show because the characters didn't look right! Thanks for the fish!

    my sister and I grew up quoting Douglas Adams on basically everything. When she turned 42 years of age, she rang me and shouted with glee "I am the Answer!!"

    I love Douglas Adams too. I first heard the radio series when I was at university. I had that little box set of tapes where the inset card for each was a different shiny metallic card. I still have those.

    Great lens, five stars! I absolutely love Douglas Adams and the Hitchhikers Guide. Like-minded people often share many literature and music interests, so I think you would enjoy my my "Magical Music" lens too!

    LOVED all the Hitchhiker Books, but also "The Long, Dark Teatime Of The Soul". Very funny once you get into it. Great Lens!

    HG2G - For years I refused to read it since in school it was only the ultra nerdy guys that were reading the series. "Oh, this has to be really stupid" I thought. Years later someone gave me a copy on a trip abroad. I couldn't put it down and ran out to get the rest! Funniest books I've read- EVER!

    The worst thing about him, was all the truly great (I'm convinced of that) stories he took to the grave. He is truly missed.

    ooohh... and Zaphod Beeblebrox is my fave character... so funny!

    I was a bit disapointed with the movie, though... the book was soooo much better

    ohhh! what a great lens (and topic)! I've been reading and re-reading HGTG since I was a kid. It's always been one of my fave books. I have no idea how many times I read it (all 5 1/2 volumes of the trilogy that is!) I esp love his work with Dr. Who. I was so sad when he died. :(
