    Most chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults is much more simple than dermatologists want to admit. Frankly, I think that the dermatologists won't admit to the actual cause of hives, because of a conflict of interest. If a dermatologist could not find a serious cause of your hives and then told you that you were dimply dehydrated and, therefore, to drink 8 8-oz glasses of water a day and to return in 2 months, he/she would not have returning patients. After all, when the hives disappeared in 6 weeks of free, harmless treatment (sufficient water), who would return to see the doctor? No one. Try the water after consulting a dermatologist to be sure that something more serious is NOT the cause.
