Urticaria more commonly called hives is a form of a skin rash, which is red and welt like in appearance. A hives outbreak can develop on any part of your body and can last up to 6 weeks if left untreated. If an outbreak exceeds 6 weeks it is then considered chronic hives. It is always advisable to seek professional medical advise from a trained professional such as your Doctor if you notice any unusual welts or bumps .
