The HKS Powered Hyundai Genesis

When Korean Car maker Hyundai debuted the Genesis a few months back the automotive world was in an uproar. Starting with a performance platform; Hyundai gave this car rear-wheel drive with a front mounted engine. This is what performance sportscars like the Corvette and Mustang have been built on for decades. Coupled with a powerful engine and a six-speed transmission, this car should be a delight to drive.

To really get the blood going in any automotive enthusiast, something big needs to happen. And at the 2008 SEMA car show, the planets aligned and a SUPER PIMPED car was born. Hyundai Motor Company brought together one of the World's greatest Tuning Outfits: HKS; and Kenstyle to produce one wicked Genesis.

HKS on a regular basis produces parts for tons of performance oriented cars. They specialize in turbocharged power and thier turbo kits are some of the most sought after in the universe! HKS shop car own many track records all over Japan and even some here in the U.S. Well when they caught wind of the Hyundai Genesis, Reseach and Development immediately went to work. The result is the HKS Genesis seen here.

The Genesis Coupe that was shown at the SEMA show benefitted from a whole slew of HKS products. The stock turbo was swapped out in favor of a GT unit and the exhaust was dumped in favor of a HKS limited edition set-up. There is a HKS Super Mega Flow intake, blow-off valve, and front mount intercooler to chill the compressed air from the turbo. Fuel duties are kept in check by the HKS CAMP2 system which takes care of engine management duties.

The suspension on the HKS Genesis features an upgraded set of HKS Hipermax coilovers. The rims have been swapped out for super rare Volk Racing RE30 wheels shod in Yokohama rubber.

Finally Kenstyle came on-board with their own body kit. The Genesis kit features a front and rear bumper, sideskirts, and a cool hood lip. Top this all off with a nice coat of PPg Candy Red paint and you have a real showstopper!
