I am one of millions who count photography as a hobby!
Photography has been a passion and hobby of mine since I was a child with that box camera! It was always a dream of mine that I would one day convert this hobby of photography into a paying career. I've competed in a couple of FujiFilm photography contests and actually taken first place! I am one of those who would love to be a photojournalist with National Geographic -- I love nature photography probably the best.

Do you dig Photography as a Hobby too?
Hey there, it's a quick poll for you!
Hello readers and any and all Squidoo lensmasters too! Before you scream, "Oh no!!! Not another photography lens!" Let me tell you why I succumbed to this lens today. There is a simple reason! You see, JaguarJulie went Back To School in September 2009 along with many fellow lenmasters. We were into week #3 when that weeks assignment was posted: Project #3 - Hobby Lens! Yo Yo Yo!!!! So, you've been enjoying JaguarJulie's photography all over the internet -- it has sprouted from a burdgeoning Flickr account to the fabulous Flickr modules throughout JaguarJulie's many lenses. Doesn't it MAKE sense that JaguarJulie would do a hobby photography lens FINALLY. PS Now why is JaguarJulie talking in the third person anywho?

JaguarJulie's Favorite 35mm Film Camera -- Fully Equipped Nikon N75
JaguarJulie packs a 35mm film Nikon N75 with all the bells and whistles!
Yes, folks! That is indeed a hot off the press picture of my favorite 35mm film camera for my hobby of photography. It's a Nikon N75 35mm film camera. Yes, it has the bells and whistles for me as a hobby photographer. It's equipped with 2 telephoto Sigma lenses -- 28-80mm and a 100-300mm lenses. I also have a Bower 46mm titanium super wide lens 0.42x AF -- but I will be honest with you that I never really mastered the art of photography with THAT particular lens! For some reason, the magic of that lens escaped me!
Take a look at that picture of my set-up! This is what I carried on our Eastern European vacations in lieu of a purse! The first time I carried this film gear, I had 36 rolls of 35mm film packed in the carry-on. You see, I was participating in a FujiFilm photography contest and wanted to be ready with enough film!
Photography Contest Entries
Photography Contest -- First Place in Pet & Animals
JaguarJulie participated in a couple of FujiFilm photography contests. The first year, she took one first place in pets & animals for her white ducks photo. The following year, she repeated a win in the pets & animals with this horse picture that was taken at Club Dobogomajor in Hungary. That second year, there were 6 categories of competition with the possibility of win, second and third places. Out of 18 awarded spots, JaguarJulie took 12! That was the last year of that contest -- drat! The contest organizers asked JaguarJulie not to compete again. Oh, kidding!!!

I resisted at first but now that we've gone digital...well it is amazing. On our trip, we took lots of pictures and we deleted lots, too. We did not have to think for even a second about the cost of processing pictures. It's great.

Film is the pick for me - maybe I'm stuck in the past?
JaguarJulie says:
You know I love both Film and Digital, but opt for Film when competing in photo contests. Anyhow, when I competed in that FujiFilm photography contest, FILM was the only modus operandi. There was no category for digital photography. So, call me stuck in the past with film for my hobby photography.

JaguarJulie recommends Cameta Camera on eBay
Let me tell you a little secret! I can heartily recommend Cameta Camera as they have equipped me with my Nikon N75 35mm film and FujiFilm FinePix V10 digital cameras. Each time that I was in a market for a camera, I wanted to full set -- with all the bells and whistles including a camera carrying case. I lucked into Cameta Camera on eBay -- nobody recommended them to me -- I found them. They so impressed me the first time when I opted for the Nikon N75, that I went back to them a few years later to secure the FujiFilm FinePix V10. At that time, I wanted to orange body one, but it was rare to none available ... so I got the gun metal gray. Let me tell you, I love that V10 camera.

The FinePix V10 is the first model in Fujifilm's 2006 digital camera line-up to use Real Photo Technology. Like its 2005 predecessors with Real Photo Technology, the FinePix V10 does an outstanding job of removing graininess or "noise" from its digital pictures. Image noise, much like static in a television signal, reduces a picture's sharpness. The noise problem is compounded when digital pictures are shot at higher light sensitivities, which can vary depending on lighting conditions.
The Fuji FinePix V10 Digital Camera redefines the world of digital photography. Its 5.1 MegaPixel Super CCD-HR combined with advanced Real Photo technology delivers ultra-high sensitivity and extremely low noise. Take viewing pleasure to the max with the 30-frame multi-frame function -- see a large group of pictures all at one time. A handy Zoom display lets you confirm focus and image quality, while your preview shots on the large 3" LCD screen. Movie Recording resolutions - 640 x 480, 320 x 240 Lens Focal Length.
Do you love photography as a hobby?
So, is photography a hobby for you as well? I'll bet you love to take pictures! How do you organize your film and digital pictures? Got oodles of shoe boxes like me? Say, maybe you are lucky enough to get paid for your photography! Hey, give me a call! Let's talk about that.

Photography -- The FAQs according to Wikipedia
Photography is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or an electronic sensor. Light patterns reflected or emitted from objects activate a sensitive chemical or electronic sensor during a timed exposure, usually through a photographic lens in a device known as a camera that also stores the resulting information chemically or electronically. Photography has many uses for business, science, art and pleasure.
