What a great Grandson! Learning to make Squidoo lenses. That's a great way to fill a "piggy" bank with a Hog Hunting lens. ha ha ha Nice work catching the pictures on camera.

Great lens we have wild boar roaming the pine forests here in Poland they cause a lot of problems for the farmers. Wild boar kielbasa (Eastern European sausage)

I enjoy hunting hogs out here in Northern California....they seem to be all over. Nothing beats a BBQ'd pig or my favorite - maple & brown sugar breakfast sausages made from wild boar!

First hunting oriented lens I've seen. I'm impressed.

I like to cook and love a good barbque.

Excellent lens on hunting hogs. As the population of wild hogs continues to spread and cause problems in the environment, hunting may be the only method of control.
  • BlueDunDan Jul 12, 2011 @ 4:57 pm | delete
there are so many hogs and spreading like wildfire. I am glad they taste good!

Hunting is one of the most dangerous sports out there. It is also one of the most highly monitored and restricted sports. All recreational shooting is confined to small, designated areas. One of the main reasons people enjoy hunting games so much is very likely because it allows for much more freedom than you would ever receive in real life situations. These games are available on a wide range of different platforms and systems and often times provide a vivid sense of realism an excitement that would go hand-in-hand with an actual hunting situation. acog scope

Tate, I see you have a nice buck picture from your game cam. Awesome. I noticed you are bow shooting now. I finally caught a boar hog in my trap around 190 pounds also I shot a 200 pound sow this past 2010 deer season but no deer. lol, Hopefully one day we will hunt again. My email is stevemanning68@gmail.com. Take care :)

Cool lens. We use to hunt wild hogs in Hawaii too. We had many a luau from the boars we brought home.

Looks yummy on a grill. Tasty Tasty! Thanks for making me smile.

The camera's that are set up to catch the wildlife are so interesting. My sister always says she'd love to see what's in her yard at night...! And my 12 year old loves archery. He's not a hunter though.
  • WeirdStuff Oct 17, 2010 @ 4:43 pm | delete
Nice one. Seems you have a lot of fun together!
  • pmolinero Oct 17, 2010 @ 2:57 pm | delete
Really a nice lens. My father in law is an avid hunter and he always invites me to come along with him. Guess one day I will not be able to refuse it. Then I will get to know about the 'buck fever'.
  • luvmyludwig Sep 11, 2010 @ 9:55 pm | delete
There's just something about this lens that keeps me coming back. I love it!
  • lightrix Jan 8, 2010 @ 4:19 pm | delete
Nice lense, this brings back memories of going wild boar hunting in Hawaii. I can almost taste how amazing it was right now just seeing the pictures on this lense.

Delicious lens. I just dribbled over my keyboard :-)
  • Jewelsofawe Jan 1, 2010 @ 1:43 pm | delete
Wonderful lens! I have had roasted pig (in the ground) a few times and they are very delicious! Blessed by an angel!

Up here in Michigan feral pigs are making a comeback and are becoming a real nuisance. Pretty soon hog hunting might take off too.

I am back for another visit to this wonderful resource. I have featured it at By Kids 4 Kids - A Group of Squidoo Lenses for Kids I also sprinkled some angel dust (you can add a link to my angel lens if you want).

Tate, thank you for your insight on hog hunting, something I've never done. I try to learn something new everyday, and today I learned about 'buck fever'. I'd never heard of that before. And, as far as barbeque-ing, well I just love, love a good barbeque!
  • LaraineRose Dec 2, 2009 @ 4:17 am | delete
Tate, I really like the lens you have made! I am wondering??? I've heard that hog hunting can be dangerous. Is it?
  • GoodBug Nov 27, 2009 @ 2:56 pm | delete
My husband is a keen hog hunter here in New Zealand. Great lens, Tate.

Howsit Tate, just dropping by again. I sure could do with a braai (barbeque) again. Hope you had a good summer. Blessed by an Angel.

I'm a little slow, but thanks for visiting my hodge podge lens as I would call it. http://www.squidoo.com/MLMBBQNightmare

My husband is a hunter. When our daughter was young and would stare at the deer he would bring home from a hunting trip, he would say to her, "Daddy, only kills the bad deer." Somehow it made it OK.

This is a hogging good lens. 5*
  • kiwisoutback Apr 1, 2009 @ 7:17 am | delete
Wow, great work! I'm in love with BBQ anything. I agree with you, if you're going to kill it, it should be for food. Otherwise, what's the point?

Great lens mate and hoping for many more. There is nothing nicer than a hog on a braai or spit. Hope you understand my English. Back home we used to call them wild pig and they could do a lot of damage to our maize crops. Also very dangerous.

I'm not real big on the whole hunting thing. Although I know where the meat I love comes from, I just would rather not partake in the gathering part. But, I do love a whole hog!.
  • Margo_Arrowsmith Oct 20, 2008 @ 10:54 am | delete
BTW, let me say that while I have no interest in hunting, I admire that this hunt is not just about the sport, but is also connected with eating and on some level survival!

Great Deer Pic Tate and thanks for showing us your camera today. That is really cool to get a snap of the deer in the back yard. maybe you can get one of fran the cat, although she is pretty fast.

Tate, you did a great job on this lens. We don't have hogs to hunt where I live so I found this very interesting. Keep up the good work!

Tate, this is a great way to learn about wild hogs and hunting them and eating them. A lot of very good information!
  • mulberry Sep 12, 2008 @ 2:00 pm | delete
Seems like I remember a story from a year or so ago about some MASSIVE wild hog that was killed (hunted) by a boy around 8 to 12 years old. I saw the picture...I had no idea a hog could be so BIG.
  • Betty Jane Sep 10, 2008 @ 7:09 am | delete
I really like your site, Tate. You are amazing. I hope you will invite me to your barbeque when you have it.

Welcome to the Squid Kids Group! Nice job on your first lens, Tate. I'm a vegetarian so it made me a little squeamish, but I'm happy to see your work on Squidoo. I can't wait to see more or your lenses.
  • Sep 1, 2008 @ 6:21 pm | delete
Barbeque was my lunch today. I'm sure it was not as good as a fresh wild hog though. Keep up the good work little man.
  • vbright105 Aug 31, 2008 @ 3:53 pm | delete
Tate, sounds like you know a lot about hogs. Good lens building. Keep up the good work, some day maybe you'll be a squid-guru!

Nice lens Tate. Looks like a lot of time was spent researching. You learned a lot without even knowing it, and having fun at the same time.I had buck fever too a long time ago. I agree with you totally that you should not kill anything without a good reason.
  • Margo_Arrowsmith Aug 31, 2008 @ 6:13 am | delete
Tate! 5* for your first lens.

Grandma, my little one is just 2. I can't wait to do a lens with him!

One of my favourite past times :) They do a lot of damage in the native forests, but when they come out on a grassy field they really make a mess!

Tate, I am the grandmother of your old pal, Frannie Phelps. And I live on Wild Hog Road!! And once, one came up out of our "bog" while we were in the back yard!

Growing up on the mean streets of NY, I never got the chance to hunt. I do, however, enjoy a good piece of venison, wild pig or turkey. Break out the Bar-B-Que sauce!

I am very proud of the fact that you feel if you are going to kill an animal that it should be for food and not for sport. Keep up the good work.
