Hogsmeade Village: Buy & Collect Harry Potter Products
Ranked #1,181 in Entertainment, #29,647 overall
For Muggles, the world of Harry Potter is overloaded with brand products. It can be overwhelming to know where to start, both for those new to the phenomenon and for serious collectors looking for reliable places to make their purchases. This lens should help you to find the Harry Potter products you want.
Just looking for the books or movies (or soundtracks)? Then check out my other lens; this one is about the large amount of sideline items.

Advice for Collectors
- JK's Army on Mugglenet
- Before even starting your collection search, start with this guide, hosted by Mugglenet. It will point you in the right direction and help you to avoid known scams and pitfalls.
- JK Rowling's Site
- JK Rowling occassionally posts on her website about rumors and scams going on in the world she created. For instance, she decried eBay for not being stricter on their selling standards. So, when considering collecting, check here first to see what she may have to say.
Fan Made Superstores
- Leaky Cauldron Shop
- The shop affiliated with the Leaky Cauldron has books, candy, costumes, and more.
- MuggleShop
- Mugglenet, perhaps the most popular Harry Potter fansite, has just unleashed its new affiliate store.
- WB Harry Potter Store
- Warner Brothers officially holds the Harry Potter brand, so their merchandise is maybe the most collectable. However, there merchandise must tie in to the most recently released film so it is limited. Still, there's some cool stuff to be found in the store and at least you'll know it is officially approved.
- Alivans
- Want to own a wand just like Harry's or wear the Hogwarts uniform? Alivans is the place for all your Hogwarts costuming needs - whether or not you got your letter from the school or not.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)
The paperback version.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)
The hardcover version.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)
The leather-bound, fairly rare, special edition. With each new title's publication, more special editions are released. They are quite neat and a must for collectors.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)
Listen to Jim Dale's award winning reading on the audio book version. Again, serious fans tend to own the audio and paper versions.

Harry Potter on eBay
eBay is a great way to find signed and first editions of Harry Potter as long as you're particularly wary about authenticity. Signed first editions are more expensive (they should be at least $100 dollars if they're in any type of acceptable condition) and the older the book, the rarer it is (few first editions of Sorcerer's Stone were printed, for instance). More tips: Scholastic doen't publish many first editions of any book, making them rarer but JKR doesn't do signings in America often either, so a signed first American should be particularly expensive. Also, there are many "signed" special editions of "Half-Blood Prince" available, but some only bear a photocopy of JKR's signature, so again, be wary. When bidding, keep in mind the adage: if it seems too good to be true. . .

Harry Potter Music
The "Prisoner of Azkaban" CD is filled with wonderfully different tracks and really could be enjoyed by non-Harry fans alike. And every serious fan should own the fourth movie's soundtrack - produced by Patrick Doyle - if only to have Jarvis Cocker's Yule Ball rock song "Do the Hippogriff."
Harry Potter Collectibles
Yeah, I know, this whole lens is about collectibles. But some Harry Potter products are particularly produced to be collected by rabid fans. For instance, there was an iPod with the Hogwarts seal on the back, that is rare and special (and, if anyone wants to send me one as a gift, I'd graciously accept.)
