How to Save Money During the Holiday Season

Save Some Cash this Holiday Season While Still Giving the Perfect Gift!

We all know times are tough. That being said, there's never been a better time to manage your holiday shopping by being careful about what you buy, and maximizing your dollar so you get the most and best stuff for everyone! With some careful planning and shopping, you can still purchase the right gift for the right people while spending less money than last year. On this page, we'll give you some ideas on how to save money during the holiday season through different online shopping sites and tactics. Read on to see how!

Start a Holiday Checklist to Save Time and Be More Efficient With Your Buying

Save money during the holiday season by keeping track through lists

First off, make a list of people you need to buy for and stick to a budget for each person. This way, you won't overspend, or worse yet, forget someone and have to go back out shopping or buy something last minute online, spending extra money on gas or express shipping.

Next, you should definitely take advantage of online shipping by looking for discounted, or free shipping offers. Save money on gas, it's expensive now! You can find thousands of unique products at discount prices right here on Squidoo!

Another consideration is pooling your money together to buy a gift for someone--get the siblings, friends or family members together to get someone a nice, useful gift they'll remember. Who wants the small, useless clutter that can pile up from the holidays! You don't want them to have to resell your gift, so think wisely.

What's a great easy way to save money on holiday shopping?

Buying a season or two ahead! By keeping in mind that spring is only a few months after Christmas, you can find great deals on spring and summer clothing and accessories on eBay and in stores right now. Your gift recipients won't mind getting a high-end item that they can use in the warmer months.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday and other Mega Sales Days

Worth it or Worth Skipping?

Start shopping early--discounts can sometimes be harder to find later in the holiday season. Try Columbus Day Weekend if you're daring, or if you're even more daring, there's Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Think about the cost-effectiveness of that long waiting on the day after Thanksgiving...is it really worth it? Would you have earned more money selling your old watch or video game system, working, or cutting a take-out meal or two? Who wants to wait in that long, stressful line all night and day, check on eBay, someone may take the stress out of your day and have it here at the same price!

I shop all year long for all kinds of things. This next year I'm going to try to keep track of just how much I spend...I really don't have a clue, but with sales, coupons, cash back, yard sales etc, I know it's really not that much.

Blessed by a Squid Angel and I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year!
