Has there ever been a better time to plan a holiday in Europe. Well OK that may not ring true initially, but there are currently a lot of deals available for package tours and travel in and to Europe. Also If you are looking for travel advice for Europe to find out the cost of travel, all the different way to get around and what the favourite destinations are, then it couldn't be easier than looking on the web for online information.

So if you still have a job and think you have a half decent chance of hanging onto to it, why not plan a couple or three weeks in Europe, as holiday destinations go it will take some beating. You could travel to London for a few days, take in the sights and when you are fed up of the rain you could get yourself a nice cheap flight to the South of France where the sun is nearly always shining, the culture, food and architecture are out of this world and you will be able to do all this at bargain basement prices.

Languedoc Roussillon Region of France

Full of great cities, the Mediterranean Sea, the Pyrenees Mountains and much more

So where is a good place to visit, well have you ever heard of the Medieval City of Carcassonne, the place where Robin Hood and the Prince of Thieves was filmed and the capital of the Aude department (11) in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France.

Or have you heard about the Cathar history that surrounds "les Chateaux du pays Cathare" with local castles, towns and villages dating back over 800 years. Historic towns such as Revel, Mirepoix, Foix, Fanjeaux, Limoux and Castres can all be reached within 30-60 minutes. Rennes le Chateau of 'Da Vinci Code' fame is only about an hour and twenty minutes away and you are in the region of France that is responsible for 30% of France's wine production.

Also you are less than 2 hours from both the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea and less than an hour from La Montagne Noir National park with Toulouse the 'Cite de Espace' also just up the road.

Do all these attractions ever end, well not really there is still the cycling along the Canal du Midi, the famous French food market at Revel, the cassoulet at Castelnaudary, the white river rafting at Couiza, the golf course at Carcassonne, the lakes, the rivers, the ....... OK I know I'm getting boring but I think you must have got my drift by now. There is a lot to see and do for anyone and everyone.

It just so happens that I can help you out a bit with some accommodation as well at Le Moulin which is a 300 year old former water mill that has 4 double bedrooms and can accommodate up to 9 people.

The Self Catering Accommodation

Rustic charm with a nice pool



The house has been separated to provide a large gite and private living quarters for the owners and has been renovated to a high standard whilst being careful to retain its rustic charm. The gite is very spacious and comfortably provides accommodation for 9 people in an unspoiled and secluded but not isolated location. Perfect for idyllic French holidays in the Languedoc Roussillon region of Southern France.



All bedrooms have single beds so that they can be arranged either as double or twin rooms according to your preference



The gite has a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, cooker, a fridge and a good range of cooking utensils so that if you choose to you can cater for and prepare your own meals almost as if you were at home but in a typical rustic French kitchen



There is a pool and gardens which provide a tranquil setting in which you can relax. The attractive swimming pool (15 x 6.5 meters) is fenced in accordance with the new French safety regulations. The pool is in the sun for most of the day but there are trees in the garden which can provide dappled shade when you want to avoid direct sunlight. The total area of the immediate site is around 1 acre and is surrounded by sunflower and barley fields depending on the local farmers crop for the year.

It's not that hard, you can use



to find flights from the USA directly to Toulouse or if you want to come via London it is a great price comparison website for finding cheap flights in Europe and for finding flights from the USA to Europe whether that is to London, Toulouse or some other location on your agenda.

Crossing the channel and driving down, my recommendation is Norfolkline, very competitive price wise and nearly always the cheapest option. Plus toll free for the first motorway section from Dunkerque to south of Lille, can it get any better, check it out here:
