Kos is one of the most popular islands in the Dodecanese, after Rhodes is the second largest island of the Dodecanese islands.Kos is one of the so called party island in Greece, Kos town and its famous bar mile is the center of the nightlife in Kos .But kos has more to offer that nighlife, Kos is the birthplace of Hippokrates and the island has a lot to offer for those that are interesting in the history of Kos .In the town of Kos there are the ancient ruins that where discovered by the Italians in the 30's after an earthquake. Also a few kilometers outside of Kos are the ruins of the Asclepion the famous ancient  sanatorium where Hippokrates taught. About 48 km from Kos is the resort Kefalos with many great Hotels and nice beaches, other holidays resorst in Kos is Kardamena, Lambi, Mastihari. Kos has domestic and international flight connections with Athens and many other European countries. The airport located about 12 miles outside the town of Kos. From the port of Kos you can get the Ferries to other Dodecanese islands and Athens.
