- This is a very good resource. We've been lucky with our dog--no problems at all in her 11-1/2 years so far (knock on wood), but I'd definitely try natural remedies first if something did come up. Thank you for the information.

- Gosh, do you know that I have 3 different 'prescriptions' sitting in our cat-laundry room that were intended for 2 of our cats--one domestic and one feral. Well, after making several attempts to administer these to the 2 rascally kitties, we gave up! That's well over $100 down the toilet. Should have tried more of a holistic approach that they'd LIKE.

- Very informative lens - I can't vote because, although I am a holistic practioner, and my own pets do not recieve those medications, I do allow that they may be beneficial for some pets in certain areas. I've lensrolled you, featured this lens, and added you to my featured lensmasters on my Holistic Health for Pets lens. Thank you so much!

- While Danu may be doing well on grains, a lot our canine friends, do not. This may be why he doesn't like wheat pasta!!
Grains are used as filler in commercial food and are usually not recommend for our sick and old ailing friends. Please use with caution.
I'd also warn against dried fruit because of there high sugar content.
STAY AWAY from grapes and raisins they are poisonous to dogs.
Please read the above text on dog food, there are some important links you may want to read.
Creating a dialogue such as this is informative & brings people together that are concerned about our pets well-being.
Please feel free to Vote and Post related information and articles.

- I wanted to put an update here about my concern and what I did about the dog food situation I had with my yorkie. I did research the orgnaic dog foods thank you so much for the suggestions. But I went even a different route. Since the day I posted the above comment, I have been cooking Danu (my yorkie) all of his food. I am using whole grains, natural chicken, salmon and beef and vegetables, his treats are dried fruits.
I did a lot of research about making homemade dog food and I decided why not make his food too. It has been a little tricky, I know he hates green peas, yellow squash, and wheat pasta! I crush his vitamins up into a powder and mix it with his lunch, along with his flax seed oil.
Since he is no longer has any dog treats and dog food in his system, he has more energy, he is more playful and his spiritual energy feels much better. He is pretty old and has teeth problems so I do have to chop his food good. I just wanted to share this information with everyone.

- Greetings,
You're so welcome.
We give Karma (our Alaskan Malamute) a bit of plain low fat yogourt which contains beneficial bacteria that aids digestion.
She looks forward to it every evening.

- Wow..
Yes, choosing pet food in todays world is a chore.
I feeding my Malamute (Karma) Holistic Blend (http://www.holisticblend.com/)
A friend of mine swears by the BARF diet ( http://www.barfproducts.com/).
I alway suggest checking the dogs (cats too) teeth and gums when I hear of eatting problems,
especially in the smaller breeds. Look for tartar build up, a broken tooth etc.
If all else fails. Click - Ailment Search from A - Z
Holistic approaches your pet will thank you for.
Pick Digestive Problems - You may want to give the product "Digestive Support" a try.
Hope this helps...

- I am so glad to have this Lens in Everything Spiritual. I have so many concerns when it comes to animals these days, especially the food they eat *sighs* My little yorkie, will not eat certain foods, he refuses! I think it is because he can tell something is not right about it, and they are not the cheap brands. Any suggestions? Blessings, WhiteOak
