    thanks for the memories - Hans Brinker or The Silver Skates was one of my favorite childhood books. I used to skate on this tiny little frozen river and pretend/dream of skating on the canals of Holland.

    I would love to visit Holland. Strictly speaking I have been there, but I don't regard a 4 hour stopover in Schipol airport as really visiting a country. I was fascinated too by the story of the boy who plugged the dike when I was little. Excellent lens.
