Hollywood a dieing industry?

The quality of films coming out of Hollywood must be of some concern, although like the Brits good films appear occasionally there is no longer the originality or desire. Films are being remade, and badly in most cases, or comic book hero's are being transferred to the silver screen, quite well in most cases. Comedies, action hero's, romance and horror are rehashed ideas leaving the viewer feel that they have already seen the film because the format is that familiar...is this down to script writers, is it down to the fact money talks so no one will take a gamble on something new?

With the amount of writing talent I think good, original and compelling films are still to be made, perhaps cheaper location shooting, less taxation on film makers could help improve a struggling industry. Or maybe it's just me, well on these pages you get your chance to agree or disagree and voice your opinion about the movies, scripts and how to put the world to rights.
