The Golden Age of Hollywood
The Golden Age of Hollywood featured some of the most glamorous costumes that have ever hit the movie screen. From long flowing gowns that seemed to just float across the screen, to tight sexy dresses that clung to every voluptuous curve. But, the beauty of the costumes faded in comparison with the women that wore them!
Veronica Lake and Jane Mansfield
Women like Veronica Lake whose sultry beauty and sexy "peek-a-boo" hairstyle had women everywhere trying to imitate her look.At the peak of her career, Veronica Lake was the most popular actress in America.
Although, Veronica Lake's career was short lived and she may not be as well known as many actresses of the same era, Lake will never be forgotten.
More recently, Veronica Lake's famous peek-a-boo hair style is making a come back with actresses like Hayden Panettiere. Panettiere chose the glamorous style for her appearance at a recent awards show. And, the beautiful actress looked like a Hollywood legend!
Jane Mansfield
Jane Mansfield, another great Golden Era legend, probably took front stage in every man's dreams at the time!
Jane Mansfield's glass figure, platinum blond hair and gorgeous costumes that always revealed cleavage, made her a overnight sensation! She was one of the leading sex symbols of her time and America's favorite pin-up girl!

Marilyn Monroe
Madonna and Lindsey Lohan
Marilyn Monroe had a way of melting herself into the hearts of everyone that saw her, men and women alike. Her most famous scene, standing over a subway grate with her white dress flowing up around her is still being reproduced. And, it is as popular today as it was when the movie "Seven Year Itch" was released in 1955.Today's Hollywood is much different than it was in the days of Lake, Mansfield and Monroe. The new modern Hollywood has an elegance and style all it's own and far removed from the days of the Golden Age. But, if imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery, some of today's stars are in their own way paying tribute to the classic legends.
Madonna
Madonna is well known for her imitation of Marilyn Monroe. Admitting that she'd grown up idolizing Monroe, Madonna has sported the legends famous hair-do and some of her mannerisms. Several photographs of Madonna have appeared in the media that very closely resemble photographs taken of Monroe in the 40's.
Lindsey Lohan
Lindsey Lohan once reenacted the last photo shoot that Marilyn Monroe had down to every last detail. She's also being hyped in the media about imitating the wild publicity stunts of Jane Mansfield. Who often would let her cleavage slip out of the low cut dress she wore to get attention.

This autobiography, written by actress and starlet Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962), describes her early adolescence, her rise in the film industry from bit player to celebrity, and her marriage to Joe DiMaggio. In this personal account of a very public life, she tells of her first (non-consensual) sexual experience, her romance with the Yankee Clipper, and her prescient vision of herself as the kind of girl they found dead in the hall bedroom with an empty bottle of sleeping pills in her hand.

- I really liked Lana Turner movies. I prefer most movies from the 40s and 50s to what they have today.
