Hologram Coins of Prestigeous Mints

Many of the most renown mints of the world are currently producing hologram coins. Of them, the Royal Canadian Mint appears to be the leader, issuing a multitude of hologram coins. The Royal Canadian Mint has been doing this long enough that any glitches are certainly worked out of the process. And, the Royal Canadian Mint is dedicated to high quality.

Current Holograms of the Royal Canadian Mint

The Royal Canadian Mint is perhaps the leader in holographic coins. RCM has been minting hologram coins for years, and has had several successful series. In 2010, in celebrating Canadian Olympic pride, the Royal Canadian Mint issues an unusually large number of hologram coins, each celebrating a different winter Olympic sport. Any collector of coins or Olympic memorabilia would do well to view these magnificant coins.

Should Coins Be Altered by Private Mints?

Should private mints add holograms to coins after the coins are issued?

Loading

Yes, why not?

niceman91 says:

I think it will be more beautiful

Jhangora says:

Not sure, but I'll say yes to balance the left side of the debate ;)

No, coins should remain as issued. Only the issuing mint should add the hologram.

Tipi says:

I just couldn't say...I guess as long as its legal to do so.

Margo_Arrowsmith says:

Not sure, it would be expensive, right?

Hologram Coins Give Coin Collecting Added Excitement

Holograms greatly enhance a coin, provided the hologram is placed by a mint.

The Royal Canadian Mint is at the forefront in hologram coins, having minted several series. The Transportation Series, the Natural Wonders Series, the Landmark Series, the Tall ships Series, and the Olympic Games are some examples. These coins generally carry a denomination of $20, $25, or $30. The Royal Canadian Mint also produces Maple Leaf holograms, both individually and as sets. Gold holograms are also made, but can be real expensive.

The royal Australian Mint made holograms, stopped, then resumed the practice with the Southern Lights.

As a hologram coin is moved the colors change, making these dynamic coins to view.
