Home Bottled Water

The issue of home bottled water has come center stage lately, due in part to the negative publicity tap water has been receiving. Closer analysis of many popular bottled water brands showed disturbing amounts of chemicals and trace elements such as arsenic.

It is sad to come to this realization, but the only way to ensure you are drinking 100% pure water is to purify it yourself. Fortunately, technology is making home bottled water technology more affordable than ever.

Different Types of Home Bottled Water

Most bottled waters will claim that they come from a spring source, although that is not usually the case. The source and processes of various types of bottled water make them fairly distinct in taste, which the US Food and Drug Administration has classified into several different groups and will be discussed in depth. Mountain Spring Water is pulled from an underground formation, which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. Only water that is collected using an above or underground spring is considered to be spring water. Purified water, however, is a type of drinking water that has been treated with processes such as reverse osmosis, deionization or distillation which will remove bacteria and dissolved solids from the water. Most bottled water brands are actually just purified drinking water. Artesian Water comes from an underground layer of rock or sand, which the water collects; water level sits at a slight distance from the rock and is usually tapped at that spot. Mineral Water is from a source which minerals are abundant; usually containing no less than 250 parts per million of trace mineral elements. Well Water speaks for itself; it is derived from a hole in the ground that is bored or drilled into an aquifer. Last but not least, Sparkling Bottled Water contains the same amount of carbon dioxide that it has when it emerged from its source. There are many types of sparkling bottled water sources, such as sparkling drinking water, sparkling mineral water, sparkling spring water, etc. Whatever the source of your home bottled water, make sure that it is the best tasting possible to ensure that you enjoy drinking plenty every day.

Home Bottled Water for Health

Throughout our day, the human body becomes increasingly more dehydrated while digesting meals, drinking caffeinated and sugary beverages and/or engaging in physical activities. It is estimated that an average of 75% of Americans are dehydrated, meaning they are not consuming as much water throughout the day as they should be to sustain mental and physical wellness. Do you ever get a headache behind your eyes around the end of the day or feel as if you are exhausted for no reason? The average American will tell you that they feel these symptoms more than a few times a week and most will also say that they feel hopeless, stuck using over the counter pain medications to alleviate their aches for life. It is very surprising to learn that the answer is not as difficult as we think; just simply drink more water. In fact, there are many doctors and nutritionists that support this and encourage their patients to completely desist from drinking sodas at all for health reasons. If you feel like you are one of the millions that could benefit from hydration from drinking more home bottled water, talk to your doctor and see if it is right for you.

IS BOTTLED WATER SAFE?

When looking for the best home bottled water for you and your family, it is very important to factor where the bottled water is from and what processes it was put through before being bottled and sold. The types of home bottled water range from mountain spring water and mineral waters to underground well sources to just purified tap water. It is known that the FDA does not widely regulate bottled water for contaminants, like the EPA does for tap water, and there has been studies performed on different types of bottled water by the NDC; many of the testing procedures came back proof positive of major pollutants in most bottled water, such as arsenic and even chloroform. Unfortunately, there is no real way to know what exactly is in your water unless you buy a system to purify it yourself; and there is still no guarantee the water you're drinking is completely pure.

Home Bottled Water and Tap Water

Some individuals would claim that tap water is more contaminated than home bottled water, due to the heavy lead content found in tap water in recent years. This is because when older cities built underground piping systems that ran between urbanized areas, they were constructed using lead pipes; throughout the years the lead pipes wear down, and lead from around the pipes adds alarming levels in city supplies of tap water, which is sent straight to your home and in your glass. This lead content in water poses major health risks and can be accredited to several learning disability disorders seen in children throughout the United States. Because of these facts, the decision on which bottled water is right for your home is a difficult one for those worried about pollutants and contaminants in their drinking water.
