Wow, your cordwood trim is really creative, and looks great. You really have done so much to your cabin now, it must be almost brand new :) Blessed ....
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Mar 1, 2012 @ 10:26 am | delete
I am pleased with the cordwood trim. Thank you for the blessing. The cabin is evolving nicely, though I suspect I will always have a new project in the works. As the Nike ad states: There is no finish line. I'm not complaining, though. I have an endless need to create. It brings me great satisfaction. Appreciate your visit!

What you did to that ceiling is amazing and very unique, it makes me want to be really nosey and see what the rest of the house looks like, I have never taken on anything like that, most of the things that I do are dressing up junk that I get at garage sales and salvage yards, and making something useful with it. I loved this lens

I will be sharing more photos to help satisfy your curiosity. Really happy you loved this web page and liked the results of my latest work. Your projects are equally creative and important. Doesn't it feel great to give something new life? Thanks for your visit and comments. Always appreciated!

Definitely need to know how to use tools when you live off the grid.
  • Evelyn_Saenz Sep 22, 2011 @ 5:11 am | delete
Okay, now I need to go out and clean up the back porch, wood shop and barn. I am ready to create a space where we can really do some projects. I would like to create a workspace where all the power tools are handy, with work benches and power. Sounds like a new lens might be in the works as well. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

    Blessed by a Squid Angel:)

I'm in awe of all you've done. A very inspiring page for all us women.

We are now living in a rented apartment, so I'm limited on what I can do...sigh...drives me nuts! But I will soon be redoing the bathroom sinks as they are a mess!
  • cdevries Sep 8, 2011 @ 6:20 pm | delete
A fantastic job on that ceiling! I did one (much simpler) beadboard ceiling and it about killed me working above my head, on a ladder. Squid Angel Blessed.

Great job on your projects. Keep up the good work.

Powerful women rule! (Especially with powerful tools).
  • Helene-Malmsio Jun 16, 2011 @ 8:30 am | delete
I'm used to doing all the hard labour, digging, mixing cement, painting, wallpapering, rabbiting, oiling etc. but electic/power tools tend to frighten me!
  • Koupie Jun 7, 2011 @ 3:59 pm | delete
This was a lot of fun.....Go girls with tools !
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Jun 7, 2011 @ 4:17 pm | delete
Glad you had fun. I had a blast constructing this site and no power tools were harmed while making it. ;-)
  • ColorPetGifts Jun 3, 2011 @ 4:31 pm | delete
Love this lens - go girls!
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Jun 4, 2011 @ 7:17 am | delete
Right on! Girls with tools rule. :-)
  • little_diddle Jun 6, 2011 @ 3:39 pm | delete
I agree! Go girls!!! We can do anything a man can do.....except pee (successfully) standing up! lol! :-)
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Jun 7, 2011 @ 4:19 pm | delete
And, if we put our minds to it, I'm sure we could learn to do it standing up. ;-)

Your Lens is so empowering! Yes we can do it ourselves and yes we can handle tools too. We manage our Family and home, and tools seems a lot easier and less complicated than those two because at least they come with manuals. GREAT LENS!
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 Jun 4, 2011 @ 7:19 am | delete
Yes we can! I love your comment about how tools are simple compared with the other complexities we handle in life. How true. Women can handle anything. Thanks for visiting!
  • Tipi May 30, 2011 @ 7:39 pm | delete
You are and inspiration! I love your "think out of the jewelry box" in the intro. You are woman and I hear you roar!
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 May 31, 2011 @ 8:47 am | delete
Thank you. I appreciate your visit and your comments. I do feel that inner roar. :-)
  • hysongdesigns May 29, 2011 @ 4:10 pm | delete
ahhh a woman after my own heart ;-) Sooo many of those around me just don't understand the power tool fascination! BTW on your tool poll everything on that list that I would want I already own ;-)
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 May 31, 2011 @ 8:52 am | delete
You are well-equipped for anything, kindred spirit. :-)

Never actually did any home improvements on my own. Great lens though. Like I said ladies are the hardest workers in the country. See you around the galaxy...

What a man can do, woman can do it also. :)
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 May 31, 2011 @ 8:51 am | delete
Yes indeed. We just get paid less for doing it. Sorry... couldn't resist throwing in that little tidbit. It's true.

I'm in the middle of converting an old metal shed in my yard to a trendy and cool chicken coop.
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 May 31, 2011 @ 8:50 am | delete
How's that conversion coming along? What a great way to reuse resources in a creative way. I recently saw the coolest idea for a grain bin conversion (for use as an aviary). Your chickens will be thanking you. :-)

My wife is the tool master around my place. I can barely swing a hammer, while she's renovated bathrooms, put up dry wall, and built carpentry projects free-hand. My wife rocks!!
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 May 17, 2011 @ 8:34 am | delete
You married well! I always figured the perfect partnership for me, since I can do the carpentry, would be to have a mechanic in the family. Of course, you can't do wrong with a chef, either. :-) Thanks for your visits and LOTD nomination. Really appreciated!

Toilet bowl won't fill, electrical hookup for new stovetop, adapter for dryer cord which does not match wall piece.... help!!!! Would like to avoid calling a handyman... save the expense by doing the jobs myself!!!
  • RenaissanceWoman2010 May 13, 2011 @ 11:04 am | delete
Lots of opportunities there. Seems like the plumbing issue is the first priority, for obvious reasons. Head to your local home improvement store. Lots of great expertise there. They will be happy to answer your questions and steer you in the right direction. I've had that same electrical challenge. You will probably need to change out your cord.

I highly recommend wearing ear protection while engaged in DIY projects! I'm with you... quiet _is_ good. :-)
