That's the dream, isn't it? Well, my brother-in-law was talking to me the other day about an idea he had to build small, home-sized wind-turbines that would capture and store power for homes. It was a good idea, but a little too late. After digging into it a little bit, I found a website with cheap plans for home made wind turbines. As always, my poor brother-in-law was one step behind the curve. :(
I still think it's a great idea! The fact that both wind AND solar powered kits can be built for under $200 in raw materials impressed me. I always thought that the supplies needed were way more expensive than that.
So, I'm a little bummed that my bro-in-law and I didn't come up with the idea, but if you do think that making your own wind or solar powered stuff for your home is a good idea, you'll want to read this information about do-it-yourself kits.
