Being an Independent Demonstrator for other companies, and now, most recently Gold Canyon Candles. I have always found it a challenge to find fresh and exciting things to do at my parties.
That prompted the idea for this site. Not only has it helped me, but possibly other demonstrators, and Hostesses as well.
Filled with some great tips, sure to please the hostess, and her demonstrator.

How Well Do You Know Your Hostess?
Give a piece of paper to each of your guests and have them number it from 1 to 10. Then ask them to answer the following questions.
1) What is your hostess's favorite color?
2) If she could have any vehicle, what would it be?
3) How many kids does she have?
4) What is her favorite hobby?
5) Who is her favorite actor?
6) What is her favorite animal?
7) What is her favorite TV show?
8) What is her favorite food?
9) What is her favorite scent or smell?
10) If you were in need of something, would your hostess give it to you if she can?
After everyone writes down their answers (including the hostess), read the questions again and have the hostess tell everyone her answers. The other guests mark on their papers if they got it right or wrong. The person with the most write answers wins a small prize or discount on their purchase.
You can change and rearrange any of the questions, but leave the last one in place. It provides a nice lead- in to mention that the hostess will get free product if they purchase a certain amount, and/or book their own parties.
Get To Know Each Other Game
This game makes for a nice icebreaker, especially if most of the guests don't know each other. It can also provide you some clues about who may be a potential prospect.
Pass around a bag of M&Ms. Tell everyone to take as many as they would like. Quickly ask them to count the number of candies in their hand. Each person then takes a turn standing up and telling as many things about themselves and their family as they have M&M's. Of course no one is allowed to eat their M&Ms until they have had their turn.
Ask Me About My Job
This game is a great way to get your guests thinking about joining your company.
Get or make up some tickets.
Tell your guests that for the next 3 minutes you are going to play " Ask Me About My Job". The first person to come up with a question will get 3 tickets, the second person will get 2 and every question after that earns one ticket.
You will hear questions like "How long have you been doing this?" and "How many hours a week do you work?" Answer them as positively as possible. Good answers to the questions above would be "I've been doing this for 12 months and I've never had so much fun" and " I only work evenings and weekends because I want to be home with my kids".
After the three minutes are up, tell you guests to hang on to their tickets. You will have another short Q&A session towards the end of the party (your guests will have thought of some additional questions by then). After that have a drawing for a small prize.
This game is a great opportunity for you to teach your guests about your business and they may see how it could benefit them.

Recipes
Yummo
Here are two yummy suggestions. The first one is from Rachael Ray, and the last one is from Paula Deen. Enjoy!
Individual No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecakes
12 strawberries
12 ounces softened cream cheese, 1 1/2 (8-ounce) bricks
2/3 cup sour cream
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 individual gram cracker crusts, available on baking aisle
Coarsely chop 6 berries and place in food processor. Add cream cheese, sour cream, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and process until smooth. Using a rubber spatula, fill pie tins. Garnish cheesecakes with slices of remaining berries.

Savannah Chocolate Cake with Hot Fudge Sauce
Chocolate Cake:
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
3 eggs
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Hot Fudge Sauce:
1 (4-ounce) bar German chocolate
1/2-ounce unsweetened chocolate
8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1 2/3 cups evaporated milk
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
To make the cake, cream the brown sugar with the shortening in an electric mixer. Add the buttermilk and vanilla then the melted chocolate. With the mixer running, add eggs, 1 at a time. Sift the flour with the baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture and beat for 2 minutes.
Grease and flour a 13 by 9 by 2-inch rectangular cake pan. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake until the cake is springy and a toothpick can be inserted and removed cleanly, about 40 minutes. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes then turn it out onto a rack to finish cooling.
To make the sauce: Melt the 2 chocolates with the butter in a saucepan over very low heat. Stir in the powdered sugar, alternating with evaporated milk and blending well. Stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer until the mixture becomes thick and creamy, about 8 minutes. Stir in the vanilla. Serve slices of cake topped with warm fudge sauce.
I know, it will be hard to choose, they look so good. Mark this page in your favorites, so you can come back and try the other one.

Candle Tips
Safe Burning

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep it in your sight.
Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
Always use an appropriate candleholder and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Read the label and follow the manufacturer's use and safety instructions carefully.
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use.
Burn candles in a well-ventilated room, but away from drafts and air currents.
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
Extinguish any candle if it smokes, flickers repeatedly, or the flame becomes too high. Cool, trim the wick, check for drafts, and re-light.
Don't allow the flame to come too close to the holder or container.
For a margin of safety, discontinue using a candle when it is within
2 inches of the holder or ½ inch of the container bottom.
Never move a lighted candle, and never move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquid.
Extinguish a pillar candle if the wax pool approaches the outer edge.
Place lighted candles at least 3 inches apart.
