Starting a Home Based Jewelry Business Could Be the Best Decision You Make this Year
Reasons Why You Should Start a Home Based Jewelry Business
Working from home and making money from something you're passionate about can seem like a dream come true. How do I know this? Because that's exactly what I do. And yes it is wonderful. Gary Capps points out on his blog that there are at least 9 great reasons for starting a home based business. In fact I can think of more than 9 good reasons to start your own home based business but we'd both be here all day if I listed them all. So here are nine for starters:
1. No paying high rents for a commercial premises
All too often many small businesses go broke because they simply can't generate enough cash to pay the rent.
2. Flexible work hours
This is one of my favourites. As a mother of three attending the kid's school assemblies and activities is very important to me. Working from home gives me the flexibility to plan around these important events.
3. Reduced transportation costs
Having a home based business means no public transport to worry about.
4. Low start up costs
Running a jewelry making business from home requires a small amount of space. You just need a work area and a place to do your book keeping. You won't need to buy any expensive equipment to start. The tools you have as a hobbiest are all that's needed together with a small amount of supplies for stock.
5. You can wear what you like at home
This can save you loads of money as well.I'll let you in on a little secret. Just recently I negotiated an advertising package with a leading craft magazine wearing my dressing gown! I just love working from home!
6. Spend more time with your family and friends
Being your own boss means that you can be flexible to fit in with family and other social commitments.
7. Use existing home phone line
Another money saver. It's not necessary to pay for a seperate phone line.
8. Tax advantages
There are lots of ways to minimize the tax you pay when you have your own business. These range from getting deductions for having a home office to benfits associated with buying resources and supplies. Your accountant will be able to give you further advice on the tax benefits.
9. No boss telling you what to do
Have you always dreampt about being your own boss?
